richgang:Bros it's better to be in Nigeria oh, you will just burn your money moving to UK, Use 20 million naira to buy Treasury bill and compound it, with 10 million naira start a business that is scalable, if you make the right moves you can do 50 m upwards in a year. Oga, things in Nigeria don't improve. They go from worse to worser. Seize this opportunity to save yourself and your generation. Don't say you were not told. |

There are no straight ways to it. Weigh your options and pick the best. What investment do u wish to do in Nigeria? Do you understand it, what ROI do you wish to get? Don’t forget the effects of exchange rate. On the other hand, what do you stand to get/become on getting to the UK? Check and compare the options. |

richgang:This thing no get one answer o. Relocating abroad is not beans, but investing in Nigeria also comes with plenty wahala. It all depends on what you really want out of life. If you decide to stay, ₦30m is enough to start building long-term wealth if you play it wisely. Not everything has to be business, you can split it. Some in safe instruments like T-bills or dollar savings, and some into assets that appreciate like real estate. These days you don’t even need to start buying full plots outright; platforms like Keble allow you to co-own properties and earn steady income from it. That way, your money is tied to something tangible and not just sitting in the bank losing value. If you choose Japa, just know the money will finish fast, and you’ll be starting from scratch doing odd jobs till you find your footing (if you do). Nothing wrong with that, but you need to be sure that’s the life you want. |

richgang:30 million Naira will last you months in the UK living a lower income life (not poverty). But it can make you a wealthy person in Nigeria if you have sense. |

*There’s no one-size-fits-all answer — it depends on whether you’re buying stability or buying upside.* Let’s break it down with ₦30m as of May 2026: *Option 1: Relocate to the UK with ₦30m* *What ₦30m gets you:* Roughly £15,000-£18,000 at current rates. That’s barely enough for a UK skilled worker visa route — you’d need a job offer with a licensed sponsor first, and that money would cover initial accommodation, visa fees, NHS surcharge, and 2-3 months living expenses for a small family. *The upside:* - *Stability & safety*: Predictable power, healthcare, education, rule of law. No generator, no kidnapping risk, no sudden policy flip-flops. - *Long-term residency path*: If you secure a job and meet requirements, you can get ILR after 5 years, then citizenship. - *Currency & income*: You earn in pounds. Even at minimum wage, £2,000/month is ~₦4m, which stretches further than ₦4m in Nigeria right now due to inflation. *The downside:* - *₦30m doesn’t go far in the UK*. You’re starting from zero — no house, no car, probably renting. It takes 3-5 years to really settle financially. - *No guarantee of success*: If you don’t land a good job, that ₦30m burns out fast and you’re stuck. *Option 2: Stay in Nigeria and invest ₦30m* *What ₦30m can do here:* - *Real estate*: You can buy 2-3 plots in growing areas of Lagos, Abuja, or Port Harcourt, or build 2-3 units for rental income. - *Business*: Start a logistics company, agro-processing, fintech agency banking, or import-export with decent scale. Monthly returns of 5-15% are possible if you know the space. - *Diversified portfolio*: Split between treasury bills at ∼18-20%, money market funds, USD assets, and a small business for hedging against naira depreciation. *The upside:* - *Higher potential returns*: A successful ₦30m business in Nigeria can generate ₦3m-₦5m/month within 2-3 years. That’s hard to do in the UK at the start. - *You’re already plugged in*: You understand the market, culture, and network. That’s an asset you don’t have in the UK on day one. *The downside:* - *Risk & volatility*: Power, insecurity, FX fluctuation, policy uncertainty. Your ₦30m can lose 40% value in a year if the naira tanks again. - *Opportunity cost*: If you’re in a sector with no infrastructure or constant government interference, growth is frustrating. *The Real Question You Should Ask Yourself* - *If your goal is safety, education for kids, healthcare, peace of mind* → UK wins, even if you take a financial step back for 5 years. - *If your goal is wealth creation and you have a solid business plan + network* → Stay in Nigeria and invest. The risk is higher but the reward ceiling is higher too. - *Hybrid option*: Some people use ₦20m to invest here for cashflow, and ₦10m as relocation buffer for later if things go south. *One more thing*: ₦30m isn’t enough to “japa” comfortably to the UK and not work. It’s enough to relocate _if_ you already have a job lined up. If you don’t, you’ll be forced into low-wage jobs just to survive. *Bottom line*: Choose UK for quality of life and certainty. Choose Nigeria for wealth-building and control — if you can stomach the risk. What’s your current situation — do you already have a UK job offer or a business idea in Nigeria? That changes the answer a lot. |

Invest in Nigeria. Investing in Nigeria requires you to have good knowledge of what you're about to venture o. Many businesses dies out because the owners didn't plan well before investing. |

I think it depends, why not find other route that you wont have to spend the whole 30m on relocation, most countries will give you visa as long as you can prove that the 30m belongs to you. You will only spend about 5m on relocation while you can keep 25m in Nigeria investing more on what made up the 30m in the first place except the money was a gift. Then use 5 to 10m to relocate and double the income. With 25m in Nigeria , if you understand the street very well, you can double that money in 1year but it might be very hard to make 50m in one year abroad except you are top tier tech expect(not html css oo) or a medical professional who is already internationally acredited if not, taking abroad exam to fully integrate as a medical person could take up to 2years. So way your options bro |

With 30 million an intelligent person should know what to do with the money... It's only clowns that use the money to travel and he doing warehouse or care jobs ....I don't know why people sell themselves to slavery doing shift day and night and living paycheck to paycheck You have lots of business to do with even 10 million ... You will be rich! In a country of over 220 million and imagine if these people spend just N1,000 daily you can imagine the value of the economy and you are leaving this huge market to go and be slaving away People no get sense shaaa Just look around your area and states and show me how many people abroad that are rich.... They live just average live and when they come they manage to buy one tokunbo, drone it for a month and sells it off when they want to go back and they have just one house they manage to build You can't be rich doing shift jobs |
