JAOS:That is the point, nobody forces a sane person to put away their phones in civilized climes. We are fond of creating stupid laws all the time. I have never ever heard of air hostesses attacking passengers in a plane, only in my mother land. Shame!! |

| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by ElSudani: 1:48am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Hedonisco:You only need to switch it off during take off and landing. |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by ElSudani: 1:50am On Aug 20, 2025 |
themanderon:Phone manufacturers don't fly planes or work in the control towers. Switch off your phone for about half an hour is not too much. |

Oraimo cord is the best for such. Apply it on the head. The effect will last for a long time. Ishilove: |

Modern mobile devices do not emit harmful signald when on flight mode. Today's aircraft avionics and instrumentation are also built to high quality anti interference standards to ensure safety. However just like the no smoking and no blades and fluids rules that came to play after Sept 11 total safety has become the concern for air travel, because you can never tell when the evil man is on board. It's possible to have a mobile device modified as some sort of explosive with it's battery. I am surprised they haven't banned phones and laptops on board because batteries are one of the restricted items on flights. |

ElSudani:They have said now "throughout the flight". |

Hedonisco:And we complain about our leaders and wonder why things don't work out in the country Truly, we contribute in our own little ways to stagnate the progress of the country. I hope and pray you change this attitude of yours. |

JAOS:Two hours ke, during take off is like 3 to 5 mins, landing is another 3-5 mins. They only say don't press ur phone for 10mins |

JAOS:I tire oooh. It's just crazy. And they meant switching it off during take off & landing ooh |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by HelenaWills(f): 6:02am On Aug 20, 2025 |
JAOS:Funnily enough, it's just during take off and landing. How is that even a problem? |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Iamzik: 6:08am On Aug 20, 2025 |
meobizy:International airlines even have WiFi onboard and they don't hound you to switch off your phone. I no know which kind planes we get for naija local airline operators |

Una dey off phone, meanwhile, people are sending texts while flying in Canada.lol. There is a reason it's called AIRPLANE MODE! DUMBOS |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Rindo69: 6:11am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Racoon:The standard is for phones to be turned off during take off or landing. Question is why do airlines provide WiFi services if mobile phone usage is not safe? In Nigeria, we included even during the flight which makes no sense at all! Those saying cant people do without their phones or electronic devices don't realise the work some people can achieve in that time. Nervous flyers also need something to take their attention of the flight and focus it on something. We love draconian laws...that is how out solution to the bombing attacks in Abuja that year was to ban power bikes and the solution to one chance was to ban tint permits! Bruce Banner |

cloud:Chief the white man who manufactured the plane and made this rule has relaxed it. They even have WiFi onboard and they sell data inflight. This ship has sailed since but trust naija. We always like to make life difficult for each other. |

| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Iamzik: 6:18am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Rindo69:Meanwhile even kidnapper go still collect the tint permit o. God have mercy on naija. The worst one is forcing car owners to do yearly tint permit for a car with factory fitted light tint. Every avenue to milk the masses. The propensity to ban everything is truly Draconian. Science and technology keeps evolving. The oyinbo who made this law before morden aircraft have relaxed it but our people are stuck in the past |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Iamzik: 6:21am On Aug 20, 2025 |
MichaelSokoto:They will soon introduce this one. Submit your phone at the entrance....and trust me this same Nigerians will support the law. Smh |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by SavageResponse(m): 6:23am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Iamzik:You can go and set up your own airline then relax the law in your planes |

Hedonisco:Where do you think this obstinacy will get you? This is foolishness. If you can't obey such a simple instruction then it's pathetic 😭 |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Rindo69: 6:29am On Aug 20, 2025 |
SavageResponse:Thats what our agencies turn to when it comes to flexing their authority. Small thing ..ban! Ban crypto, Ban tint, Ban phones on flights, Ban this Ban that |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by mirrael68(m): 6:32am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Iamzik:Whiteman level of compliance different from our own. Their ship may have sailed but ours hasn't been built yet. Get my point? We still dey jungle. No basis for comparison even while using same grounds. |

Arostar2023:No calls can come in on Airplane mode. In fact the phone is as good as switched off. |

| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Iamzik: 6:40am On Aug 20, 2025 |
mirrael68:I get what you mean. Our people get their own madness but you see this issue of switching off phones? Modern tech has overcome it but some rules/regulations die hard. It's absolutely needless to switch off phone on a modern aircraft. I travel regularly and this is my experienve. I use airplane mode on my own and Never for once have I been told to switch off my phone |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by Iamzik: 6:47am On Aug 20, 2025 |
SavageResponse:Typical response from an average Nigerian who is addicted to Draconian laws. Mobile phones pose no threat to modern aircrafts but you will not understand this till year 2080. Airlines now offer WiFi services onboard in case you don't know This is why the world has left Nigeria behind. The crypto that your government banned is the same crypto that US and European government are investing heavily today but watch as Nigerian like you will keep defending the ban until it becomes the global exchange medium |
| Re: 'No More Airplane Mode’: NCAA issues new directive on phones, electronic devices by FoggedBrain: 6:47am On Aug 20, 2025 |
Hedonisco:It's a simple instruction. It won't cost you anything to put your phone on flight mode or switch it off entirely .bThere may be no serious consequences to the plane but it's an instruction. |
