Wow this is massive projects here. I think lithium minerals are much in the southwest too.
What we have in the west is nothing compared with the deposit in that region. My concern is the sustainability of the project as lithium battery tech is being actively replaced by the sodium and graphite battery techs.
The Chinese investors understand the biz terrain better sha.

Mined, processed and shipped out to China as raw material. Then use it to produce finished lithium batteries sold to Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world at a much higher price.

Honestly, sometimes it feels sad to be a Nigerian cry
Nothing stops Nigerian entrepreneurs from producing lithium batteries. Why didn't any Nigerian entrepreneur set up such a facility? Why should the Chinese do everything for Africans and in Africa?

This is a Buhari project from 2022.

This did not start under This administration.
I dont understand all these propaganda. Nigerians are so gullible.
Buhari and Tinubu are members of the same party with similar policies. That being said, Chinese investors under the present administration promised to invest up to a billion dollars in new factories should the business environment remain favourable.

When you know that being Nigerian use to give you high blood pressure, why can't you leave the country for us to be managing it the way we are?
You can relocate to some of these ECOWAS countries, they are visa free.

How much of revenues from the lithium plant will go for FAAC fir sharing to all the 36 states and Abuja? Probably none. But breweries have been paying tax to FAAC for sharing among the 36 states.

Go school you said No. By the time Lithium plants become more extensive, it would not only contribute to economic growth but boosts foreign exchange through exports. Is it everybody dey drink beer?, is beer you produce exported?. Compare to phone/car batteries everybody is using, that will even be exported to other countries for use. try & receive sense.

U dnt get it.. it's not an FG project... It's a private project by a Chinese firm...

So the work has already been done wen they were invited given incentive and location and economic environment.... The rest is left to them

Lithium Processing Plant At Endo, Nasarawa State 🇳🇬
Endo, in Nasarawa State, is fast becoming Nigeria’s lithium powerhouse, attracting huge global investments that promise jobs, skills, and economic growth. A $250 million plant by Ganfeng Lithium is underway, designed to process 18,000 tonnes of lithium daily, that’s about 4.5 million tonnes each year.

Wow this is great 👍
NIGERIA is Blessed in all ramifications but the leaders are terrible, always against the People that ELECTED THEM-so the mak lives DIFFICULT for the People, for the essence of Government - is to qmake the Masses lives Better, but Not In Nigeria

Not really! Nassarawa and Kwara and Oyo so far have the largest deposits of Lithium in Nigeria. Even Abuja has several Lithium mines and massive lithium processing plants even bigger than the one posted on this thread (I'm talking of ASBA's processing plant in Abuja). Kaduna, parts of Kogi West, Ogun state, Ekiti, Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, Cross river all have lithium deposits. Though Nassarawa and Kwara has the highest grade of lithium in Nigeria right now and they also have more processing plants built or in construction right now.

This is a clear illustration of "Looking Inward" Governors need to tap onto areas of comperative advantage, attracting investments for economic growth, job creation and revenue generation. Rather than being over dependent on the Federal Government.
Kudos to the visionary Nasarawa State governor 💯🎯

Nigeria must move into battery production. This is a brilliant idea. We need to see more Lithium process and battery production across the country.

The development of the battery industry will replace crude oil production. I see Nigeria developing its battery and gas industry to support electricity and export.

Lithium processing generally involves four key stages: extraction, purification, conversion, and material preparation. These stages vary depending on the source of lithium (e.g., brine or hard rock mining) and the desired final product.
Here's a more detailed look at each stage:
1. Extraction: This stage involves obtaining lithium from its source material. For brine sources, this often includes solar evaporation ponds or direct lithium extraction (DLE) technologies like solvent extraction, adsorption, or membrane filtration. For hard rock mining, it involves crushing, grinding, and leaching the ore with a chemical solution.

2. Purification: Once extracted, the lithium-containing solution or material undergoes purification to remove impurities. This can involve various techniques such as precipitation, filtration, and ion exchange. The specific methods depend on the source material and the desired purity of the final product.

3. Conversion: This stage involves converting the purified lithium into the desired chemical form, such as lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide. This often involves chemical reactions and further processing steps.

4. Material Preparation: Finally, the lithium compounds are prepared for their specific applications. This may involve further processing, such as drying, milling, or pelletizing, to create the final product, like battery-grade lithium for lithium-ion batteries.

Nigeria could have been a major producer of lithium batteries. I know how much I spend for shipping alone because it's fuel and risky to fly. If we produce it here, we won't be suffering with electricity bills.

You have the raw material, you have the processing plant, why you no want bring China or send you own people to go learn how to make the batteries and save the country some dollars?

We will make much dollars supplying lithium batteries to the rest of Africa. Instead, they prefer to cook half done and still ship it to China to finish the cooking only to spend the income on importation of the same thing.

They no get business sense
