WIfe of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo on Wednesday contacted Ms Jennifer Elohor, the corps member assaulted by the state's vigilance operatives, to sympathise with her on the incident.


Soludo who made the disclosure to newsmen in Awka, said she had invited her to the government house for a meeting.


"I was deeply disturbed by the way that lady was assaulted. There is absolutely no justification for such a cruel and humiliating act of abuse.

"I have reached out to the corps member to check on her well-being and extended an invitation to her.

"However, she informed me that she is currently not in Anambra. I asked her to contact me as soon as she returns," she said.


Recall that Elohor in a viral video was seen being assaulted by some operatives of the 'Agunechemba', a state vigilante group at Oba in Idemili South.

The operatives were said to have invaded the lodge where the corps member lived and assaulted her, also stripping her naked.

The action has been condemned by all segment of the society and the Anambra state government had handed the vigilante operatives to authority for prosecution.

I don’t have her contact details, not within her environment and I will not leave whatever business I have to conduct with my staff and associates to start hunting. If I was a lawyer, I would have taken interest in the matter. On the other hand, she attained several levels of education that qualfied her for the position she has now fills. If after all that growth and she still don't know that this is the right step to take then too bad for her except she chooses not to. 20+ years ago, nobody encouraged me in my first case, as a matter of fact, everyone discouraged me and tried to make me see 1,000 reasons not to but thank God I knew the cards I held.
