Kidnappers and similar criminals always claim “it was the devil’s doing.” They have years, sometimes decades, to change their ways. They never listen until time is too late. They then spend the little five or ten years on death row regretting their actions.

When kidnappers are killed during operations you hardly hear of their family or siblings. This is cos their family are supporting them and benefiting heavily. 3 days ago, 3 kidnappers were killed at point of collecting ransom that was tracked at aboh ogwash/ otulu, they were from same aniocha north, not Fulani. Same as those Killed at forest behind Ogwashi uku poly. I saw their corpses being taken to Ogwashi uku police station

Why are we still deceiving ourselves?

My own cousin was kidnapped alongside a Reverend Father. This is a Reverend Father who once stood on the pulpit defending these same agitators and egging them on. They didn't care, as he was severely totured and sodomized and was stabbed and left for dead. Nobody is immune. Supporting them does not buy you safety. The same hand you clap for today may be the hand that snuffs out your life tomorrow.

I speak with pain. I lost an in-law in Ozubulu one of their strongest supporters 2 years ago. He was slaughtered in cold blood. And he wasn’t the only one. The list of deaths is endless, too many for me to recount.

And yet, we continue this dangerous pretense, shouting Fulani herdsmen even when Buhari, the man we thought we were spiting, is already gone.

How long will we lie to ourselves? How many more coffins before we wake up and call it by its name and take over our land?
