Popular Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, a.k.a. Okon Lagos, has called on the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

He made the call in a recent episode of The Clarity Zone podcast, emphasising that the IPOB leader should be released in the interest of peace and national reconciliation, even if it doesn’t make legal sense.

He claimed that pardoning Kanu would be morally right, arguing that the IPOB leader’s agitation for Biafra’s secession was emotional and fuelled by the perceived marginalisation of the Igbos in Nigeria.

I am one million percent of the opinion that Nnamdi Kanu should be freed. Free him. It may not make legal sense depending on what they have claimed, that the evidences that have been put in the fore of the ‘crimes’ he has committed.

It [freeing Kanu] doesn’t need to make legal sense, but it makes moral common sense,” Umoh claimed.

His guest, Nedu Wazobia, asked: “How do you mean by it makes moral common sense?”
Umoh replied: “It is morally right. Of course, he is a human being and he took emotional decisions, and emotional decisions are not right decisions. He felt that his people were being marginalised and he started agitating for Biafra’s secession.”

Kanu deserves pardon no matter what.

Let him go for peace, security and regional stability.

Igbo people's political marginalization since the end of civil war in 1970 pushed Kanu and others into agitation for separate nation.

Nigeria have had several opportunities to bury Biafra agitation and Igbo marginalization talks forever but refused to do it out of wickedness. Yet when Igbos make attempt to leave the Nigerian union in peace so that the rest can enjoy one Nigeria in peace without Igbos, they still cry, fight, attack and curse them for making attempt. Allow equity, fairness and justice to prevail so that all forms of agitation can die a natural death they say no, and some unscrupulous youths who envy developed nations in Europe, America, Australia, Asia, etc support such brazen injustice and wickedness while on the other hand hoping that Nigeria will become great, how?

Tell me any developed nation that became a great prosperous nation by being unfair, unjust and bias to some of the nation's region?

The Kwam 2 lady was released from Prison with just the minister promising us he will do so. From being remanded till Oct 6, she was released within 2 days.

When it comes to Nnamdi Kanu, we will be reminded that only the court can do so. Once it comes to anything Igbo, the standard goes so high just like JAMB and Unity school cut-off marks.

Let's continue to deceive ourselves and wallow in injustice. Tomorrow, the hypocrite will ask "where is the evidence of marginalisation".
