BangaRice:12v system can never be efficient with an inverter. Same is true for 24v and 36v and 48v and... The koko be say, the higher the voltage, the more efficient the system would be. Also using 300w SOlar panel + PWM controller is a complete waste of resources. As for the 100AH battery, Except it's Lithium battery, only use 100AH battery when you actually need <= 50AH. Even if it's Lithium battery sef, 100AH is small that except your loads are super light, said battery wouldn't last long enough to repay it's costs. Regarding your 300w vs PWM, you're better off with a used MPPT than a brand new PWM especially when paired with a 300w solar panel against a 12v battery. |

Valentinooo:Don't know about ZN SOlar but have used JA solar on 1 occassion. Can't really say much other than so long it's on Fouani, mayBe they are good enough BUT then again, don't expect super rich results. na fear of getting stuck with a few premium brands that you're left stranded when out of reach that made me often attempt brands I suspect might be good enough. My list of Premium (vary grades) of charge controllers just included SRNE. Not like morningStar or epEver, etc BUT much good enough. I never still fit completely get alternatives to sonyXperia phones sha though select model of LG Huawei seems to be good enough. Also, hopefully you're very much aware it's often popular brands that are easy to pirate abi FAKE abi CLONE |

bassdow:valid advise but the issue is the system is not mine. Owner just needs a inverter than can charge his battery from grid when available. I was hoping someone with a working idea of brand and model that does that will assist. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 11:01am On Aug 21, 2025 |
BangaRice:well if you just want brands, I would give you BUT if it's about efficiency, you got more than you asked for from ma comments. Also someone with such setup, doesn't need to bother much about brands and the rest. Just buy (used) Solar panel, just ensure they actually are what's stated on it's sticker. As for the brands you listed, told you I already used one of said brand with no issue. For a setup like yours, Solar panel no go be your issue rara. You said you have asked same question before BUT got no response: mayBe na because people no know as dem go take respond. Even me sef dey feel say i dey respond before getting to understand your question. See eh, kindly tell us what exactly you need: Inverter brand, Solar panel brand, battery brand, etc OR you want specs. For me, with your requirement (from what I seem to understand), except there's plan to increase later, just buy any Solar panel even if it's used. Just ensure it's actually 300w and not just on the sticker. Brand doesn't really matter here that much especially for said requirement. Depending on load, and quality of PWM (which already is bad idea for 300w + 12v battery), hopefully the user doesn't need much from the battery else the battery (even if na good quality) life go drop seriously |

bassdow:the solar panels, inverter, controller and battery already exists. Dude just need something to help use NEPA light to charge the battery and automatically switch-over between NEPA and GRID. Dont know if a small 12v system exists for such thats why i hit nairaland. |

BangaRice:someone here bought a Bread inverter a couple of pages back, that may be a good option, you can also contact valto or dam5reey for other options |

BangaRice:You may almost certainly not get an answer. People here have left such small systems which includes pwm for a long time. Just go get any 12v inverter that has charger function and that's all. Sure i didn't answer, but at least i responded 😎 |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by favouredbymercy: 2:01pm On Aug 21, 2025 |
ask4bk:300w panel with a pwm controller on a 12v system is already na issue. 200w should be d highest on a 12v system, while multiples must be in parallel. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 5:00pm On Aug 21, 2025 |
Since the aforementioned already exists, just go get a battery charger, 12/24v depending on the setup of the existing system, and use it to charge the battery with power from the grid. May be impossible to achieve automatic changeover with the existing setup, except you/he get(s) an automatic transfer switch. BangaRice: |

BangaRice:Contact Valto to get a 12v 1kw Welion inverter, it supports grid charging and you won’t need PWM as it comes with MPPT cc inbuilt…It support up to 40A to recharge your battery. |

Hello great people, Please where can I get inverter anti-dust kit? Anyone with plug of where I can get it from, I believe I should be able to get from a repairman or so as I’ve searched online and couldn’t find any so far. |

bassdow:How's the srne mppt performance like so far |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:18am On Aug 22, 2025 |
Drgreatone:yet to aggressively test since I'm only using it on one of ma small auxiliary setUp BUT from the little I've observed, both in build quality and config interface, it's much better than the likes of FELICITY which I've always seen as trash. Would say it's a close alternative for those who can't easily afford the likes of morningStar, Fangpusun, and epEver. In fact it's closely in league with epEver + this my version even supports Lithium out of the box. |

Hello @all, please why does my inverter forget to charge my battery especially when the battery is nearly full. at about 96% or 98% when there is Nepa light, and the sun is on, it won't charge till you off and on back the nepa breaker before it starts charging. |

please where can i get this voltage regulator... original one oo abeg....i hear say fake full everywhere and dem de catch fire i want to add it to my db )for now until i can lay my hands on a good voltage stabilizer.....it will supply grid to my db and whenever i install my inverter it will be also serve as supply to my inverter input. Thank you

Dam5reey is a plug. However, I think if you live in an area where there are wild voltage fluctuations, you'd be better off with a "good" stabilizer as well. abcabc234: |

BangaRice:What's the you want to power, I want to assume a solar generator will be better for your needs. I have one I can recommend if it fits your need. |

mctfopt:How's the performance, when the panel is partially shaded? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:39pm On Aug 22, 2025 |
Trippledots:Production drops. How much it does depends on the solar panel type and how much area was shaded. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by saxwizard(m): 7:28pm On Aug 22, 2025 |
abcabc234:This doesn’t work like the normal voltage regulator. So you cant use it like a regular stabilizer. Adjustable voltage regulator Not automatic voltage regulator |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 8:52pm On Aug 22, 2025 |
Ayomipoe:Thanks for the mention! abcabc234:Please be informed that this is a Voltage/Current/Delay Protection Device, it does not regulate voltage, Protects from LV or HV. |
