If he's smart, he should relocate from Lagos to another state that won't put more burden of taxation on him.
They will still tax him and the rate is the same! Every state is seeking to increase IGR

In Nigeria the class of people that are consistently and dutifully paying their taxes are civil servants because it is deducted from the source before it ever get to their hands.

His problems started the day he said he made 30million from a single live stream. Na plenty talk put am for this wahala.
He used his mouth to say he made 30m from a single live stream.

Govt assumed on that basis that he can make a minimum of 360m per year. 10% of 360m is 36m.

He should go and pay it.

“Anybody who earns legitimately is required by Section 24 of the Nigerian Constitution to declare their income honestly and pay tax. While we still need to investigate the details of this specific case, the principle is clear: if you earn, you must remit taxes,” Ogungbo said.

Nobody said section 24 does not exist or is invalid. The main issue here is HOW DID YOU CALCULATE HIS TAX TO BE ₦30 MILLION NAIRA? What parameters did you use? Guess work or Estimated billing?
The parameters they use was the information he gave out. He claims he made more than 30 million in a single stream. He makes many streams in a month. Let him pay!

from January 1 2026 you can no longer keep your earnings a secret. Banks are now mandated to send details of inflows above 5m naira to the tax authorities lol. Tax reforms
So i will pay tax even if I keep the money in trust and in savings account

Taxation is essential for growth. Only when used for that purpose.
To br honest, we wouldn't mind paying tax if we can see what the tax is being used for.

Right now, the states are getting lots of allocations and finances from places, what exactly have they used the money for? Every now and then we hear of embezzlement, corruption and all . Then you want people to continue paying the tax so as some people can steal?

It sure will hurt tax payers alot if they get to know their money isn't used for its purpose . Hence, the government needs to first reassure its citizens by using putting the money to good use

What the stupid government does not realise is that the banks and Nigerian economy is under attack by their policies and Cameroon , Ghana, South Africa and more will have Nigerian moving money in blocks away ,there by creating a downward movement in the economic indexes and indecies , this should have been a law for multinational investors not the local Yoruba man producing in factories in ogun or igbo man who is already suffering to import goods

Criminals, they’re only good in milking the poor masses. How much is the governor paying? You’re taxing the little boy to pay tax of 36m. How much have you ever subscribe for him? Have you ever given him a lion on his handler? Thieves
If you love Peller you will tell him to pay his tax because only enemies of Peller will tell him to openly commit crime by evading tax
