Don't kill python that won't harm you.

Don't harm python that do you anything.

Live and let the python live peacefully as well.

Don't even eat python that won't even eat you. It's as simple as ABC.

Lastly try to obey the laws of the land and live peacefully with your host.
Goat nkor?
At least those ones don't harm anyone

That guy is not serious, but their religion approve cutting of people's hand if they commit crimes and also spreading their religion through violent force.
And they will prefer to go to war to keep the people they hate?
What has this got to do with his religion? Yoi have seen him as your personal enemy and you have decided to be against all he stands for .

How does this even sit well for you? We should preach love and peace always

Cultural practices in whatever form - custom, tradition, dressing, language, material or immaterial is dynamic. For any progressive society culture changes with the changing society. Some cultural practices such as the one in discussion has outlived it's usefulness and ought have been discarded but some people still holds to it to victimize others.
To think that in a post-modern computer age humans are still worshipping 🐍 is archaic and barbarian.

Yes, Anambara State has produced prominent and educated individuals. Nonetheless, the vast majority remain in the dark. In this 21st century man is talking of sacred what? Snake? Lord have mercy.

In Anambra, youths paraded a man with a dead python around his neck after he allegedly killed the sacred snake, a serious taboo in some Igbo cultures.[/quote]

Nairalnaders and their bold display of ignorance will never seize to amaze me. Ball pythons are not dangerous to humans, they're very harmless especially in communities where they're not killed.

It must be Idemili, but why hold on to such archaic tradition in today's world?

Eke Idemili ought to have expired na.....the deity is no longer active like in the olden days that it did wonders for the community shocked
Not only idemili, there are other parts of Anambra and Imo state that view the python as a sacred animal.
You can call it archaic but if you kill any wild animal in the USA you will likely be charged and deported within a week.

It's the same principle, just framed differently. Elephants are sacred in Thailand, cows are sacred in Hindu, you touch any of them and you will face a far severe consequence than this man in Anambra

Is Nigeria now U.K or must we always copy what they do?

Do u think they are always right?
I'm from Anambra state, this culture has been like this for many years. I used UK as an example to tell u about people's culture. For instance, in awka the state capital you dare not kill a monkey, if you do u will face severe consequences more than the man is facing. In Lagos island, you dare not roast yam and red oil, it is forbidden. And people are obeying it. I cannot use because I love roasted yam and go to Isale eko to eat or roast it.

Lagos as developed and enlighten it is, go to isale eko and eat roasted yam and palm oil. Or open a shop where they sell it there.
