Good day everyone, I thought to share an update on this application for the sake of the people that this information might be useful to. So this application was denied on June 26th, the couple were advised to apply for their parents alone and leave the siblings out of the application. They also got advised to submit a reconsideration request being that insufficient funds was stated as a denial reason but the funds were more than sufficient.

They tried to wait for gcms notes before submitting the reconsideration but till date the gcms is not out. They decided to close their eyes and submitted the reconsideration through a webform for the pry applicant(the dad) on 25th of July and start preparing to submit a fresh application.

Guess who woke up to a PPR mail on 31st of July, the dad only. However, his wife and 2 kids that all applied with him as a family remained denied so they reached out to IRCC and the customer representative they spoke with said even though they applied as a family, reconsideration requests for visitors visa should be submitted individually. So they proceeded to submit for the mum on Aug 5th and 8th and she received her own PPR on the 14th of August. Right now they have submitted for the 2 kids 2 days ago and awaiting updates from IRCC and we hope they are approved so they can attend their brother's wedding as well.

I thought to share this, if you feel you were denied wrongly. Try submitting a reconsideration request but that is if you feel you were wrongly denied ooo, we heard it's automatic denial for most people now and the reconsideration is helping them have a 2nd look and approve people that shouldn't have been denied in the 1st place.
Disclaimer : If you application was meant to be denied it will remain denied o, reconsideration doesn't mean everyone denied will get approved.

Moral lesson : Try submitting a reconsideration request today, you might be lucky to get approved and not have to spend the extra cost and go through the stress of gathering new documents for a new application cos for reconsideration you must prove your point with the same documents submitted for the initial application that was denied, you must not add any new document.

Thank you and I'm willing to share more information for anyone interested.

bcolat21:
Good day everyone. So I'm here for advice, the visa above was denied and the reason they gave for the denial made no sense. The purpose of visit was to attend their child and brother's wedding. 2 parents and 2 siblings aged between 19 and 25 were invited with 59 year old parents.

Denial reason -

Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada. I have reviewed your temporary resident visa (visitor visa) application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a visitor visa (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/
services/visit-canada/eligibility.html). This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/l-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/
index.html). I am refusing your application.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-2271
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family members), if applicable).

We really need the parents of the groom to attend the wedding as the bride to be's parents have been approved. What do you advise we do differently when reapply. The POF provided had over 70m for the 4 of them and they parents are well established back home which serves as ties. The siblings are also in school which are also good ties back home.

What can increase their chances of approval for the wedding please since the wedding date has passed and wedding postponed cos of the denial?

We included a lot of documents and explanations in the initial application that got denied such as :
1. Invitation letter from Couple ✔✅
2. Letter of Purpose ✅
3. Proof of Funds(Bank statement with almost #79M)
4. PGWP of inviters✔✅
5. MP Declaration ✔✅
6. Marriage License ✔✅
7. Wedding IV✔✅
8. Grooms dad leave letter from his workplace ✔️✅
10. His parents and siblings information as ties home in Letter of purpose ✔️✅
11. Proof of funds for 3 of them from dad
12. other ties Including his work and business he needs to get back to in LOP✔️✅

Please if anyone her has gotten approved for a wedding and can share tips. We won't mind.

Thank you

Thank you for this information. I have a sister who earns over 1m monthly and has uk visas and italy visa with a valid 2yr uk visa and she was denied yesterday. i have a few questions please. 1. Do you think she should go for reconsideration? 2. If she decides to re-apply, do you think it carries thesame weight as the reconsideration. 3. Refusal reason says that applicant provided insufficient documents to support source and history of accumulation of declared funds, applicant did not provide sufficient documentation on current business. even though she submitted all letters including statement for 6months, e-tax clearance, land documents, investment certificate, family information, etc. what is your suggestion please?

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Berisagurl: 8:39am On Aug 22, 2025
We applied for a one month stay in Canada. 2 weeks in NB and 2 weeks in Ontario.

Documents Submitted:

My husband is a business person and I applied as a home maker.

We submitted:
Marriage certificates

His 1yrs business MBS

His 6months personal MBS ( We ensured the money we would be using for the trip is in his personal and not business account)

Company registration documents

His business is registered as a business name, so we submitted his tax card and recent personal income tax receipt. Business names don’t require company tax clearance. We also ensured the business name has an active status on CAC website.

We submitted our valid UK Visa stamps (2yrs) and that of our children.

Pictures of our trip to the UK

Cover letter introducing ourselves, explaining lump sum deposit and previous visa denial (my study permit visa was rejected last year)

Detailed Itinerary outlining our intended daily activities for the one month we would be there.

Invitation letter from a friend that stays in NB, Canada. She is a PR. She attached a copy of her PR card and mortgage doc. We however stated in our letters that we won’t be staying with her. My point is, if you feel you can comfortably take care of your accommodation, and someone is inviting you, don’t allow the person state that they would accommodate and feed you if their financial standing is not really okay. Your host would be required to submit a financial statement to this effect and if it’s not tight enough, it may work against you. So if you can accommodate and feed yourself, it’s okay to state it that you would do these yourself even if someone is inviting you.

Hotel and flight bookings (dummy tickets) - we made confirmable reservations we can cancel directly on the hotel website and it was completely free. For the flight tickets, we used Wakanow and paid a token of 10k.

Sponsorship letter from my husband stating he would sponsor me fully. Also a separate cost estimation letter, stating clearly how much the trip Willis cost us - return tickets, accommodation, feeding, miscellaneous and how much we have set aside to cover this costs. However, I still attached my 6 months Opay Bank Statement to show that my husband pays me allowances/supports me. Really, the closing balance wasn’t huge, it was about 200k.

For home ties:
Property documents
Pictures of business premises
Children’s birth certificates - we are not traveling with our children.

Tip: for every section, I did a cover stating what documents are attached and the page they can be found on the pdf. So that nothing is missed.

We used the new portal.

Good luck to everyone waiting for their approval.

Hello there,

It seems she provided the requested documents. She should give reconsideration a thought and upload all those documents, pay stub, investment documents and the rest. And the reconsideration is a letter explaining her situation. Based on what you have shared about I'll share a sample of what her reconsideration letter can look like below :

Reconsideration Request for Visitor Visa – Ms XYZ

Dear IRCC Officer,

I am writing to respectfully request a reconsideration of the refusal decision issued regarding my visitor visa application. After carefully reviewing the refusal letter and the officer’s notes, I believe there may have been some misinterpretation or oversight in the assessment of my documents. I wish to clarify the purpose of my travel, my strong ties to Nigeria, my financial and professional capacity, and the genuine, temporary nature of my intended visit.

Purpose of Visit and Strong Ties to Nigeria:
I applied to visit Canada briefly for personal and family reasons, after which I will promptly return to Nigeria. My life, career, and assets are firmly rooted here. I am a businesswoman with ongoing responsibilities that require my daily oversight, and I have no reason to overstay. I also maintain strong family ties in Nigeria, with dependents and close relatives who rely on me.

Financial Capacity:
The refusal cited insufficient documentation regarding my income and funds. However, I had submitted six months’ bank statements, e-tax clearance, business registration and operating letters, investment certificates, and property documents. My monthly earnings exceed ₦1 million consistently, which is more than enough to cover the costs of my travel. I also hold valid visas to the UK (2 years) and Italy, with previous travel history showing full compliance and timely return. These records clearly demonstrate both my financial ability and my respect for immigration laws.

Below is a list of documents I submitted in the initial application :

Six months’ personal and business bank statements showing consistent inflows
• E-tax clearance certificate
• Business registration and operating letters
• Investment certificates
• Land/property ownership documents
• Family information forms and dependents’ details
• Evidence of monthly income exceeding ₦1 million
• Previous travel history with valid visas (including a 2-year UK visa and Italy visa), with timely returns and full compliance

Final Appeal:
I believe my application reflects a genuine short-term visit, supported by financial sufficiency, strong family and economic ties, and a proven history of international compliance. I respectfully request that my application be reconsidered, as I am committed to returning to Nigeria after my planned visit.

Thank you for your time and kind consideration.

Sincerely,
Ms XYZ

You can tweak it or make it more convincing by adding more details

The agent is lying to you because you’ve either already been refused the visa or even banned for submitting fake documents. The only way to know the truth is to request your GCMS notes . that’s the detailed record the visa officer keeps on your file.

I want to greet and appreciate all the wonderful people here who have been helpful and giving out important Priceless information to assist others.

I will be needing your assistance please.

A travel agent processed visiting VISA for my brother.

The visa was denied.

Agent is not giving us detailed information on why the VISA was Rejected.

I read somewhere online that says my brother will need to fill a consent form to get GCMS NOTES or so.

Currently my brother is not in the country.

He is not the computer type. cry

He manages to make and receive phone calls...he is the very old school type of person angry angry

He has told me to help him with trusted agent or find a way to get his VISA out for him.

Is it possible i can get the GCMS NOTE for him online by myself even though he is not available to fill the consent form/letter? undecided

Anticipating a reply from this wonderful family.

I will be extremely grateful if someone or anyone can assist. smiley

i forgot to mention....i have all the needed details to apply for the GCMS NOTES.

You can apply for a visitor visa for more time to sort yourself out. It would have been better to do the application before being out of status, but you can try. That's the option available for now.

But if you have an application for renewal still in process and the current one has expired, you should be on implied status until the decision is made.

Can someone please help me out with details on how you compress so much documents to 2mb. After all my compression, i still have almost 6mb. when i further compress, it is becoming almost unreadable. Also, how do you add photos? do you lay several of them on word/pdf, or add them one after the other in the list of attached documents? It also looks to me like ircc did not read my sisters LOE. is there a way we can make ircc see it better or do you think some officers just overlook those things? Would be glad to get your response. Thank you

Hello and thanks .
The situation is ; Applied before current permit expiration. So implied status is automatic and you only have to keep doing what doing and wait ?

The main question is whether the applicant even qualifies for a work permit extension before relying on implied status. Also, note that you cannot apply for a visitor visa from inside Canada only a visitor record. A visitor record allows you to stay longer in Canada, but it does not grant you the right to work, nor does it allow you to travel and re-enter Canada since it is not a travel visa.

[quote author=Juz1dan post=136565234]If you submitted an application for an extension of your work permit before the current one expires, you would need to wait for a decision from IRCC. You should be able to continue working till the decision is made. Since you are in Canada, you can call the IRCC customer centre for clarification.

You have to start your application and get to where you would be required to upload documents to know the number of section that applies to you. As it differs per person, depending on the answers you provided to the asked questions. For instance, a person that answered that he is married would have a section to upload marriage certificate while someone that is single would not have that section.

So there are compulsory sections like your travel document section, proof of funds (which for me is the main thing …lol) and then others, depending on what answers you gave. There is also a client information section, where you can upload other supporting documents that can help your application.
