For instance, I know a course mate back in school who's a private school teacher and is currently earning hundreds of dollars monthly from his tutorial videos on YouTube.

What gave him the motivation, resources and even audience to start and grow the YouTube channel? His school and students...

Don't just look at the classroom and salary, look beyond.

The pay won't take you anywhere. Surviving with teaching job now is now very, very hard especially in this current regime. I'm sorry if this thread hurt your feelings but it is the gospel truth. The challenge is that there are fewer women that can teach maths, physics, chemistry etc

Why do the mods allow this type ignorant threads on front page? Just cos private some private schools don't pay well, doesn't give u the effontery to go sexist and misogynistic to prove a baseless point, are u trying to say only females are worthy to be paid poorly? Instead of u to direct ur grievances to the government by suggesting that there should be a nationwide regulation of teachers salary, u had to come spew total ignorance and gender bias here, caution urself and try to be wise next time

You're right, I recently tendered my resignation to my school management. Can't imagine earning 30k per month and only collecting 20k as 10k goes for contribution.

The reason many are still there, is because they don't have options.

If someone is ready to support some male teachers, many would have dropped teaching to learn one skill or the other.

my friend offered me teaching job in a private school, the salary is 40k. I have been contemplating to accept since last 3days, but seeing this your thread, I have decided I will not do it.

Not really part time, I go to school 4 times a week from 8am to 2pm.

It was the highest paying teaching job I have had though.

Most of full time I did, didn't pay up to that.

Inside 30k the school owner go still get mind deduct. Take home for some is actually zero ,after they minus transport,and snacks money at the end of the month.. How that kind teacher wan teach pikin well?

Lunch time,he will no be seeing kids with chicken laps and Turkey
