Ahh, where would an individual get money to do rail from Lagos to Abuja?
Re: $4bn Abuja-Lagos Superhighway Set To Take Off – AEC by Justnation: 8:49pm On Aug 21, 2025
Every major road project in this tinubu government starts from Lagos.

Lagos - coastal highway
Badagry - sokoto coastal highway
Lagos - Abuja high way
Etc

The project must start from Lagos and will definitely stop in Lagos, thus using those other states to justify the nepotism.

This government stinks of high nepotism, tribal, and cronies settlement syndrome

Good gesture from the federal government of Nigeria. I can't forget the day I travel from Lagos to Abuja by road for my Nysc. The memory still leaves in me. The journey was too long.

Basically a SW Expressway terminating at Abuja. Tinubu is very clever and loves SW. How do you connect Lagos, to all SW States before taking it to Abuja when a direct and shorter route as the crow flies would have been very short route.

The project is amazing.

The best comment on this thread. They'd never do that for a reason. Nigeria's leadership arrangement is turn by turn and chop make I chop. That's a long term project, from which they'd never see money to steal while in power.
A fast speed train project would have united us more and brought about even development. I was surprised why the self-acclaimed democrat and architect of modern lagos isn't looking in this direction.

I may decide to grow oil and cocoa plantation in my maternal grandmother's hometown in ekiti and even relocate there and still, be doing my business in Lagos. Once it's 5pm, I'm already at the train station to catch my 1hr train back to ekiti, even up to my back yard and call it a day. Those living in Kano, Anambra, calabar can do same. This would have brought about even development in Nigeria. I can build a duplex with shikini moni, compared to spending a billion on same building in lagos. All I need is buy beer Cartons for the family with little cash amd I'd be given 1 acre of land free. Instead of wasting billions of dollar on moribund refineries which always end up in their pocket, this is a project they should've considered.

Kogi state is such an unlucky state with leadership. There's a small town in Germany called Gackenbach, where there's a replica of lokoja mount patti with an elevator taking tourists to the mountain top in droves. The mountain top is as flat as mount patti in lokoja with several acres of land with hotels, restaurants and hispltals. On mount patti too could be hotels, housing estates, standard stadium and even an aerodrome. In bello's 8 years in office, he never visited there. I had driven there once. There's a radio station there owned by a retired military man called tunde ogbegha. Because bello was short-sighted and super corrupt, he didn't bother to look in that direction because that wouid have been a 15-20 years project. Lokoja would have been a great tourist destination.

We dont have a caring leader yet, who truly loves Nigeria. All we have are businessman in pioitics.
All these long grammar for someone that doesn't know about your existencehuh You call Minister of works😂😂😂😂

From Abuja to Maiduguri is a dual carriage, which is over 500km x 2.

But constructing Abuja to Lagos , Lagos Calabar dual carriage now, is waste of moneyhuh??

Modern rails especially for high speed trains are very expensive to build and maintain, especially on long routes.

To be honest, rather than any wasteful venture, the best option is to fix the existing highway and make it motorable. We do not need 'super' solutions, what Nigeria needs now is a system that works

80km/hr on an interstate highway? Quite low.
We do up to 120km/hr in North America!

Wondering why the speed limit is that low..maybe an informed person can educate me!

We already have roads that lead to Lagos, so building another one really isn't necessary. What we actually need is a railway. High-speed trains would be a game changer — they're safer, faster, and much more affordable for everyday people. Plus, they'd help bring down the cost of goods across the country. Unfortunately, the Federal Government seems more focused on building new roads instead of fixing the ones we already have.

Nigeria Police Security Trust Fund on my mind…

I come in peace.
My brother we all knew are that case ended with billions in limbo!! Going by precedent, this project is dead on arrival.
To be candid, if we a really strategic infrastructure wise , we should be thinking of linking Itakpe railline to Abuja,, Warri railine to the Eastern corridor.

Do i sound like i care about his existence too? I wonder if any of them feeds me. Which abuja-maiduguri road is a dual carriageway? Is it abuja to Plateau or Plateau to other northern states that's dual carriage way? I had driven from lagos to yola 2ice and I can't see the dual carriage way you're talking about. We know your likes...always dropping fake information. You should have kept quiet instead of embarrassing yourself.

High speed train is risky and can come with high maintenance cost, due to it's mechanics...if the superhighway would be elevated at least 7 feet from the ground and barricaded for safety, and adopting electric shock railings around it, then I think it is better because it will be safer with better maintenance efficiency.

This government have no genuine interest in people's policy their focus is strickly on ambigious projects that allows them steal massive funds.

Our existing highways across regions are not even motorable as we speak so whats this obsession with starting new projects they can't even complete?
