Nigeria is the nation with the highest number of hypocrites on planet earth

All the men here are self-righteously indignant over the fact of underage sexual activity but they're the same people having sex with these children shocked if you did a survey of Nigerian women an abnormally high number of them were sexually molested as kids (by teachers, trusted, older family members, etc). Y'all are just evil hypocrites, because I know most of you see nothing wrong on sex with underaged girls (statutory rape).

Same way Nigeria has got the highest number of religious establishments on earth but the entire country is literally hell on earth...every other street has either a church or a mosque (mostly the former) where desperate and ignorant people are getting swindled out of their life savings by the hour angry

How come you guys don't consider the same HIV/AIDS when you procreate anyhow?

What about contracting HIV/AIDS, since most of these teenagers don't use condoms

I'm so surprise that you are asking this question concerning the implant.

I have seen mothers taking there children to family planning clinic for implants that they don't want their children to become pregnant.
Take all your sisters to go put the implant.
A secondary school pupil age now ranges from 11-17 , when you have your daughters and age of 11 to 17, take them to the hospital to fix the implant.

A Growing Moral Challenge Among Secondary School Girls

A disturbing incident recently occurred in a secondary school that calls for the urgent attention of parents and society at large.

A female student in SS2 committed an offense that led her teacher to discipline her. During the process, blood was unexpectedly seen dripping from her arm. She was taken to the principal’s office, where she was asked to remove her shirt.

To everyone’s shock, it was discovered that the bleeding came from an implant device lodged in her upper arm.

The implant, medically known as a contraceptive device, is designed to prevent pregnancy during sexual intercourse. Once inserted, it can remain in the body for up to three years.

Upon questioning, the student confessed that she was not the only one carrying the device. A school-wide investigation revealed that at least 40 female students were found with similar implants.

This raises critical questions:

What business does a girl under the age of 17 have with such a device?

How did these secondary school students gain access to it?

What is the role of medical practitioners inserting such devices into minors?

The implications are alarming. If left unchecked, this trend threatens the moral upbringing of children and the future of our society. Parents cannot afford to remain silent.

The Role of Parents and Society

Parents have a divine and moral duty to nurture, monitor, and guide their children. Failure to do so not only leads to societal decay but also carries accountability before God.
Equally concerning is the role of health workers who administer such implants to underage girls. By doing so, they indirectly promote immorality and compromise the values of the younger generation.

Way Forward
Parents must intensify close monitoring of their children, both at home and in school.
Open communication between parents and children on moral, religious, and social issues must be prioritized.
Community leaders, religious leaders, and schools should work together to restore discipline and moral guidance.
Where possible, girls who are of age and have responsible suitors should be encouraged to marry, as marriage helps curb immoral behavior.
What was once thought to be a challenge only among university students is now creeping into secondary schools. This calls for urgent action from parents, schools, health authorities, and society at large. The moral future of our children depends on the decisions we make today.
Fabricated story!

1. A 17-year-old is quite old enough to make decisions on the contraceptive method of her choice. Children younger than that would require consent from their parents before getting such procedures done. And more importantly, I believe those procedures are legally accepted forms of contraception. undecided

Implications of what exactly? Children getting birth control should be normal by now. What I am more interested in is why you are not incensed by the fact that the so-called discipline from her teacher is likely the cause of the bleeding? undecided

What parents should no longer remain silent about is the assaulting of the minds and bodies of the children that have literally helped turn a whole nation into a nation of agberos/touts. undecided
You failed to understand that, many of the touts/Agbéró we see today grew up as over pampered children. Whenever someone tried to correct or discipline them, their parents fought back instead of allowing them to learn respect and boundaries. Now, as adults, those same children have become a threat, even to their own families.
You will hardly see well trained and disciplined child grow up to misbehave recklessly.

One major reason many marriages of 2 years and above remain without children is the use of contraceptive implants. Many young ladies see it only as a protection against unwanted pregnancy, forgetting its possible implications on a fresh womb. I speak from what I know, two of my friends who wedded over 2 years ago are still trusting God for the fruit of the womb. May God help us

Did the writer of this article say marriage helps to curb immoral behavior?
The married men and women who still seek sexcapades outside their matrimonial homes, how has marriage helped to curb their immoral behavior?

It's like this writer is a novice.
I was shocked when females on Facebook wrote and supported family planning contraceptives for their daughters once they hit 14.
Hmmm... na that day I know say the effect of keeping up with the Kardashians has eaten deep into our society.

Mothers and would-be mothers are only bothered about their daughters not getting pregnant, so they insert a contraceptive implant, and they don't bother about HIV.

This article didn't even bother to indicate that the girls were asked who took them for the contraceptive implant. They couldn't have gone on their own to have it implanted without their mothers '

It's always best to take your child to the clinic to have her placed on birth control as soon as she starts hanging around boys to avoid a situation whereby she ends up as a teen mom.

prevention is better than cure... Traditional parenting no longer works on these teenagers.
Hope it will give them protection from STD's?

Re: Contraceptive Implant: A Growing Moral Challenge Among Secondary School Girls by Fab21: 9:07am On Aug 22, 2025
This is the first time I’m hearing about this and honestly, it’s disturbing. To me, it shows that many parents are no longer available to properly monitor and guide their kids. What shocked me even more is that some people are supporting the idea, forgetting that contraceptive implants do not prevent STDs.

Once teenagers know they are “protected” from pregnancy, it gives them the confidence to freely experiment with sex, often with multiple partners. But what happens when a child has already built up numerous sexual experiences as a teenager? By the time such a person grows into adulthood and wants to settle down, issues like sexual incompatibility, infidelity and broken marriages will likely follow.

Yes, I understand we live in a busy world and a highly sexualized society and parents fear teenage pregnancy. But to focus only on pregnancy while ignoring the danger of STDs is very troubling. Some of these teenagers may even lose their lives in reckless sexual encounters.

The truth is, parents have a major role to play. They must:

*Start proper sex education early (for both boys and girls).
* Teach morals and values consistently.
* Know who their children’s friends are and the kind of influences around them.

Of course, no parent can follow a child everywhere. But at least, let parents play their role first. Contraceptive implants will not solve the deeper issues;strong parental guidance, values and discipline will.

This kind of reasoning is the reason we are backward. What wrong did the nurse do? how do you know this was do ne without the consent of the parents ?Its better she has this than get pregnant and drop out of school.
I don't really think it's a backward reasoning as you said. The guy has some point there.
Let's look at it objectively.
If a man sleeps with this secondary school girls we are talking about here which are around 14,15,16 years old,say with the consent of their parents.
Then the matter, through one way to the other gets to the government/law court, what do you think will be the fate of the man?
Will the LAW says because the under age girl willingly submitted to the love affairs or and that her parents even consented to it that the man is not liable for any sentencing?
The crux of the matter here is the age of consent.
So, for the medical personnel and the parents who are adults that knows the position of the law on that to have aided and abeted the crime (yes, encouraging a minor to have sex is a crime), they are liable to prosecution.
So the guy was,to some extent, right.

The Millennials (Which I belong to) often use your phrase "Our parents were too harsh on us", so they try to be "soft" or "sophisticated"
We want to be friends with our children, forgetting that to lead humans, they must have a bit of "fear" of you in them to listen to you and to act right.

Are you trying to say things were as bad as it's now, or what exactly are you saying?
Was Nigeria this morally corrupt 20 years ago?

It's for you to answer 'Yes' or 'No', but if it's a 'No', compare both eras using evidence.

So how come the country is not better for it if the elderly ones raised their children properly?

I maintain my stance that there's nothing happening now that didn't happen before. The ubiquity of cameras and platforms at the click of the finger made it seem such things happen recently.

As for morality, IBB who glamourised corruption isn't a Millennials or Gen-Z. Ex House of Representatives members were once yahoo yahoo boys. A hook up babe won an election in Ebonyi.

Nothing new.

Just hearing this for the first time, but going by the rate I see U25 single mothers, nothing shocks me anymore. I saw one feeding her baby corn and coconut __that type they sell into a paper. Small small girls without a source of income or understanding of life. It is poverty that causes these things. When you know the sex your daughter is having is what feeds you, you would even watch her go sweep for her yahoo bf and call him on phone once in a while.
They go with their mothers' to public places like banks without bra and dressed indecently. They increase their age to open accounts so that they can receive payment for services offered.
They can' neither read nor fill forms correctly. If you go to Iyama in Benin you see less than 18 on the streets hustling for clients at night. I cried the first day I saw it.

I'm told their family puts the financial burden on them and they're groomed for Spain, Italy and Germany after secondary school.....you ask what they do for a living when perfecting their forms and you're told hook up with no shame or remorse.

Yes, I have written on this many times as it is a pattern I have noticed for both the boy and girl child. There was an exposé of how some boys are groomed for sex in low income areas. One hotel owner was arrested months back and his victims were poor SS1-3 boys. He lures them with stipends, bartender jobs and promise of WAEC payment. Nne leave o, poverty is a bad thing. Poverty would make a parent reduce his/her hold on the child. How do you effectively control a child you are not providing for?

I pray these kids find their way back to the right path. Amen...
