I have my tickets for the end of the month already. Nigeria is fun, my friend. You need to learn how to survive and thrive in the system. Nigeria is overall cheaper for me from my research.
Oga diaspora you're causing nuisance here.
Come back let's exchange location.
I know this is the easiest way to mock those in Nigeria but God will help us in Jesus name, amen.

The worst thing you will do is to argue with stewpid people in their own turf.

They are stewpid by choice and want to force that on others by pushing baseless and ignorant arguements.

Just let them be.

I believe you are the USA. Many of us live outside too.

A mechanic making 25 dollar per hour in the USA can afford 2 crates comfortably. Just with 1 hour salary.

A mechanic working in Nigeria even under a notable company cannot even buy half crate with 3 hours salary.

Going by your stale comparison, it requires 12,000 naira to buy just 2 crates. How many mechanics earn 12,000 naira daily not to talk of hourly?

Let us not even talk about civil servants. Many of them earn less than 30k monthly. I mean millions of them.

That means their salaries will finish just buying 5 crates of egg!

What happens to other necessities of life?

Will your one day salary in the USA finish just buying 5 crates of eggs? Let us not talk about 1 month.

Guy please stop. I beg you in the name of God almighty. You are mocking people.

If you have spare cash, support people in Nigeria so that people can eat.

People are mad hungry in that country!

16.88 dollars is not 12k. 16.88 dollars in naira is 25k+.

A create of 🥚 in my area is 5200,5300. It's 25k in UK. That's 5*

Some luuuunattics will say the minimum wage is US is higher as if house rent and healthcare and other essentials are NOT way higher in the US... smiley

A crate of egg is NGN5,000 where I am by the way.
How many of work will it cost to buy a creat of eggs? Minimum wage in Nigeria is 318 naira per hour that cost you two days to clock to buy a crate of eggs. Meanwhile in the US, one hour of labour can buy you far more than a crate of eggs

How did you calculate your daily wage rate ? We have 10 hours of work per day and we have 22 working days. 22*10=220. Divide the 70,000 by 220,;you have 318 naira per hour. Very poor . You will need to work fr 18 hours just to buy a create of eggs
People earn more from other runs their salary. Will you guys ever get this? I once saw man tip a security guard at the ATM 6k or more after withdrawing cash.

Ok, today I was out to do an oil change and decided to branch by my favorite Afghani store where I usually buy provisions when in the vicinity. Now, I came across an organic crate of egg for $16.99, 30 medium sized eggs in a crate.
Now, I remembered I spoke with a friend in Lagos last week who priced a similar crate of egg at 6000Naira, Yes ! you heard me right! 6000Naira! Folks in Nigeria do not know how good they have it Living in Nigeria so next time you complain about Nigeria, remember a fresh organic crate of egg goes for N6000 and things are way cheaper in Nigeria compared to the western countries.

So, there is something that should make one happy living in Nigeria
I am waiting on pins and needles for the minimum wage crew.
should also compare roads, electricity, living wage or minimum wage and best of all, why not return to Nigeria to enjoy what we're enjoying here?

Of course, the minimum wage crew will come for you because Minimum Wage & The Purchasing Power of the people is a very important factor when you talk about purchasing an item. The main question is "How many people can afford the crate of egg?"

Nothing more to add, you have done justice to the issue, it seems those making those stupid comparison are mocking us, as a businessman, with registered company, I have not done any haulage at Apapa since July 4th, thank God I stay in my house, just imagine someone making such demeaning and reprehensible comparison, are the wages the same?

Some people are deranged honestly

Oga, $16 is one hour work in the USA. 6k naira is 2 days worth of work for a minimum wage earner in Nigeria. It's not cheap here for Nigerians living in Nigeria

1. Minimum wage is for FG/state employees not private companies like banks, telcos, oil companies etc. They are wide apart.

2. 70k is the basic salary which only corpers earn. The least paid civil servant earns NGN110,000.

3. Nigerians NEVER rely on salary alone. There is always one runs on/off the job that augments or surpasses the salary.

4. In the US, rent, healthcare, taxes, bills etc are also high not just the eggs.

1 month rent in the USA is some people's annual rent in nigeria...

Here in the UK for example....
U earn 2k a month...
Rent is 1k per month
Council tax is maybe 150
Energy another 150
U pay for insurance (if u drive) and pay for transportation If u don't
Then you buy food
U pay for your broadband
U pay for your cell provider or your cell phone subscription
U pay for credit cards
U pay for phone contract
U still get to buy some personal items...
Now this is assuming you don't have a family

Ask yourself... Why do you think alot of people pay debts. Loans and credit cards until they die??

Yes people earn more in the USA but life is more expensive in that country than Nigeria...
10m can help u as a single man survive in nigeria for a year... Convert it to dollars.... It won't survive u for 6 months

some people pretend to be half educated ,,,, when you do comparison, let it be WHOLE.. not in section .......an average artisan in the US , earns like $20 per hour ..let assume he works for 10hours = $200x2000=N400,000 in Nigeria... but who earns that here among them,,,,
