a shocking clash of voices has erupted over the Dangote truck accidents that have claimed lives in the South.

An angry northern woman has come out to defend Dangote trucks. But in doing so, she launched a direct attack on activist VDM. She accused him of going too far, saying his activism is turning into radicalism and even a threat to Nigeria’s security.

In her words, “VDM, you are doing too much. Who do you think you are in this country?” She warned that his confidence might one day consume him, insisting that Nigeria is far bigger than any single activist.

She admitted that no human being should be happy about Nigerians dying from Dangote truck accidents, but she argued that blocking Dangote trucks is not the answer. She reminded people that Nigeria’s unity—built on the marriage of different ethnic groups long before VDM was born—must be protected above all else. Instead of stopping trucks, she challenged him to take his fight to the courts or stick to his platform.

But here’s where the story gets even more intense. Many Nigerians see her defence differently. To them, it feels like she is protecting a northern business interest because Dangote is from the North. They argue—what about the countless lives wasted by unlicensed Dangote truck drivers? Why defend Dangote instead of confronting VDM directly?

Critics point out that taking Dangote to court in Nigeria is almost impossible. They say Dangote is so powerful, it’s like dragging the federal government itself—cases die quietly. That’s why they believe VDM took action the way he did in Edo State. And even though authorities like FRSC have remained silent, VDM’s action forced Dangote to pay medical bills of victims, some of whom are even getting advanced treatment abroad.

So the big question is—who is right here? Is VDM truly doing too much, or is this woman simply defending power against the cries of the people?

I move around in this country and to be frank we can't blame only dangote trucks for all the accidents. Chinese mining trucks also kill people, Bua trucks are there too, many private owned trucks are also hitting road users everyday.

There should just be some kind of law that will stop all trucks from plying the roads during daytime. The trucks should only use the roads at night. Maybe the accidents will reduce

Is there a specific time in nigeria that people usually get kidnapped? Even during daytime the roads are also not safe. Banning these heavy duty trailers from plying the roads during daytime will drastically reduce all these unnecessary accidents.

I was driving along keffi last month to check a property. If you see the way a large cement truck sped pass me, you will think he was running after something.
Those guys are something else and road safety are doing nothing to stop them.
Government should create a different lane for them.

When you compare international companies with dangote and his likes you will understand that dangote just picks drivers on the roads of kano without any training. Have you seen Haliburton, Slumbeger, ect truck drivers on the road? If you have you will understand the difference between good and bad, it's pathetic

A typical Nigerian speaks on where their interests lies the most, it doesn't matter if what or whom they're supporting is despicable.


As long as their interests lies there, they're ready to turn a blind eye and keep praise singing until the tides reverses.....
