Lol 😂. Taribo West the most handsome footballer that has ever played for Nigeria. Lol 😂. Shouldn't we ask him what he has been able to give back to Nigeria from the privileges he has enjoyed in his life?! This entitled mentality by some of these people who have turned out to be FALIURES in life after playing for clubs and country instead of becoming an INSPIRATION sef dey make me wonder. Did you all play for free at your clubs?! Were they owning you money? How did you invest your monies?! Your life is your own, if you don't plan your life don't expect Nigeria to love you more than you loving yourself. |

Anybody who is above 40 years old and have not started planning for old age is on a long thing. I don't understand why we like to blame others for our own irresponsibility. What Taribo is saying invariably is that even within their so called 'group' they were unable to help Peter Rufai and his family? Nobody cares if his son ever sets his feet on Nigerian soil. People should learn to take responsibility for their lives. |

press9jatv:Why should the FG fund his burial? His children or family should bury him. Millions of people are buried by there family and loved ones without the involvement of the FG,why should his be different? |

seunmsg:Gifting a one of payment of $100,000 to a player does not translate to laying proper foundation for support of Legends and veterans. The president's gesture is not intended for development but purely a political strategy to gain public admiration It is a waste of public funds |

Hezzyluv:So Sad. I feel his pain. Omo we love to abandon. When it is good Nigerians love you, when it is bad they will abandon you. That is why we can never win the world cup it goes beyond football. Look at France that can fill a team with 8 African players in a racist era like ours. All they want to do is win and they don't care what anyone thinks. Look at Kylian Mbappe that wanted to play for Cameroon but they asked him to pay " egunje " to play for his country. A Country that does not publicly honour its heros will no longer have heros. |

johnmartus:Compared to how much they were making in their European teams it was chin chin money government was giving them. The truth is to become a national hero in any field takes so damn much thats why heros a few. The amount of public relations a star like Davido or Whiz kid is doing for Nigeria wound cost the government billions of dollars to achieve. Taking care of heros pushes the younger generation to aspire to be heros, the more heros you have the greater the country becomes. Peter Rufai was a Nigerian and African Legend. A childhood hero that brought smiles unto millions of Nigerian faces, when things are tough for him that same society should repay him by putting a smile on his face. To be a hero for a nation and be abandoned is wickedness. Omo I have alot of respect that that babe Tricia Eseigbe who gave Okocha a public farewell in a Talk of the town Lagos event , even Okocha was stunned a Nigerian could honor his retirement. She celebrated Okocha that their was a rumour she wanted to snatch him. I think she felt he was short changed so many times in his career and celebrated him in a big way. Okocha remains the most underrated footballer ever but I am happy that the World is recognizing that a true great slipped through our midst and we did not notice. If Okocha played for France they would have said " Jesus is playing football " |

Why do these former footballers, actors, singers always feel entitled, acting like they are better than everyone else? When you were playing football, did they not pay you? Did they not give you the exposure to be seen by football clubs so you could be signed and make more money? So because you played football once we're all supposed to put our lives on hold to start worshipping you? Do you know the number of people dying in this country daily? What's special about that guy that we should care about him in particular? |

SalamRushdie:Did he play for free? Nigerians are too emotional. Emotion inhibits logic and reasoning. Did the government owe him unpaid wages before his passing? Everybody wan cut from the cake at every opportunity. When he was balling with his family in his golden days, they didn't call us to join. In fact it is a shame for the family to say that they are financially incapable of burying their loved one, and are asking the public (funds) to do it. They should be ashamed! We keep promoting nauseous attitude in this country. ![]() |

maiunguwar:Why do other countries respect their sportsmen because they bring honor to their country. They are the pride of their country. Some countries erect status in honor of these players. Do u know what the passed through before they become what they are without government support and still have the love to represent their father's land with pride. Is it not during their trial moment the government supposed to show concern? Tell me what most of these politicians have done to deserve honors |
