HydraFeeds:You sound a bit mixed-up - you say don't sell yourself cheap and at same time u say selling will not move bad market! So you admit gragra reciprocity will not sell Nigeria. You talk as if US has always been overun with Chinese products. They know they were better offwhen they made the products themselves |

![]() The funny thing is the average American will never even be aware of this policy by the Nigerian government because they don’t have any plans to visit Nigeria but the average Nigerian is definitely aware when the US government changes their visa policy for Nigerians because the Nigerian dream is to japa. Good luck. Softmirror: |

DoctorStanley:Perhaps it's your lack of understanding , if US couldn't produce what they're getting from China , why are the not crawling under the feet of Chinese but instead slamming tariff on them ? If they know that they're bad market(that is currently unable to produce) , why are they not selling themselves cheap to the Chinese ? The same thing applies to Nigeria , because most Nigerians travel to US than Americans coming to Nigeria doesn't mean we don't have cards to play on those americans coming to Nigeria . Back to the production , firstly , US lost their manufacturing status because (1) it's costly to produce in US (2) resources unavailabilty (every country in the world has a card to play cos natural resources they posses might not be available in other countries , therefore they have to depend on this country that have no matter how insignificant they appear to be ) (3) skill issue (there's a reason why Taiwan is a strategic country to the US because they're the only one that has mastered the production of cheap) (4) mass production (China has the ability to mass produce but US don't hence mass production leads to surplus while the inability leads to scarcity) Now going to your They know they were better off when they made the products themselves it boils down to my assertion that despite their weakness in the manufacturing industry , they're still trying to better themselves instead of selling themselves cheap , they do not suffer from inferiority complex like you might be . They want to control their destiny the same way Nigeria wants to control her immigration destiny. |

DoctorStanley:It's not true , America has alot of interest in Nigeria that gives them billions of USD from oil and gas and solid minerals also Tech. For instance see France 🇫🇷, how they are crying just because Bukina Faso stopped them from mining their uranium. The economy of some western nations cannot survive without resources from Africa. |

DoctorStanley:UK 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷 have the highest gold reserve in their vaults. Where do you think these were gotten from??. This helps to strengthen their GDP , and stability in Economy. |

HydraFeeds:If I now say you're being myopic you'd complain. China dumps their goods in US but informally closes their market to US goods, no matter how cheap the Chinese goods, you think that's a good thing in the long run??! That's quite different from preventing people from coming to your country who you KNOW for certain only come to spend money!! |

| Re: Nigeria To Demand Social Media Disclosure From Americans by HydraFeeds(m): 12:12pm On Aug 20, 2025 |
DoctorStanley:You're not only being myo pic but also lacking in unders tanding . The word "dump" lacks depth because if there's no market , there won't be importation because it will cause several ripple effects like glut , loss , manufacturers shutting down etc . China was able to "dump" their market in US because there's market for it , which stems from local manufacturing inability . China is simply doing US favour but despite this , US that is in disadvantage are still thumping their chest high and slamming tarriffs on China , the negative effect is that inflation will skyrocket in US and there will be scarcity , but they dammed all consequences and proceed to fight China . China closing the door on US goods on the other hand are sufficient in these products hence less negative impact , if you say I'm lying , mention one American product that was blocked in China that causes scarcity or inflation in China ? Now going to how it relates to people coming to your country to spend money , Chinese goods in US makes things cheaper and readily available , which means happy economy , Nigerians going to US means spending money in US and happy economy for US but if US don't want Chinese products or Nigerians migration , it means lesser happy economy , but still they're proceeding with this policies , so if US are proceeding with these "negative" policies , why shouldn't Nigeria do the same ? Lastly , I mentioned countries like Egypt, Morocco and South Africa that have the highest visitors in the world , but these countries have tougher immigration policies compared to Nigeria , but people still chose them over Nigeria that has lax immigration policies , which means it's not the policy that makes people want to go to a country but what the country can offer them . |

HydraFeeds:This your post is so full of misinformation I don't know where to start. First, Nigeria does not have lax immigration policies. Go and check Second, you are totally wrong about someone dumping products in your country. Just take a look at how made-in-China has affected us here. Are we better off since they closed down local industries? It costs US JOBS! It is quite different from preventing people who are strictly coming to give you money! |

DoctorStanley:You are saying a different thing entirely. We are talking about America's condition for issuance of visa. Diaspora remittance don't come through new entrants into USA. They come through Nigerians with valid papers in foreign countries most of them well settled. USA's new visa conditions even if Nigeria retaliates will have little or no bearing. Besides America's restrictive visa conditions over the years has significantly reduced their contribution to our diaspora remittance. The bulk comes from Europe, Asia and Canada. |

DoctorStanley:Nigeria does not have lax immigration but when they want to reciprocate social media check policy ,it's a "tough" policy and should not be made ? Where do you stand exactly ? So does America has lax immigration policy before wanting to implement a "tough" social media check ? Now compare Nigeria to South Africa for instance, which country has tougher immigration policies and which country do foreigners prefer to go to the most ? You're the one that used the word "dump" ,now let's analyse the good and the bad ,when Buhari implemented a policy of buy Nigeria grow Nigeria, closed borders and banned some goods importation, what happened? There's super inflation because we don't have the local capacity to be self sufficient. The same will happen when you slammed 100% or more tariffs on goods US or other countries can't produce sufficiently,it will lead to super inflation,I guess you missed your basic economics class . Should a country throw the towel and accept their fate ? No ,that's why US is slamming tariff and trying to rejig the local production ,the same thing Buhari attempted ,the only problem is implementation,it should not be done once but gradual phase out . Now,the bone of contention is that because US didn't throw in the towel and let China control their goods (by making things cheaper and economy running smoothly) the same way Nigeria should not throw the towel and let US control our immigration. Lastly ,it's erroneous to say US want to give Nigeria money ,any Americans that comes to Nigeria has a sole purpose of making profit ,even the said aids are not free cos it's being used to sponsor terror and control the government, lobby for more positioning and moreover it's not that Nigerians going to America are plucking money on the tree on picking it on the floor ,they work for it and contributes to US economy. |

HydraFeeds:Ok, one quedtion stubborn guy, why don't other countries retaliate exactly against US tarrifs? And how is US controling our immigration? We ought do what's BEST FOR OUR ECONOMY! Not mumuishly mirror everything US does. We may even decide to make entry into Nigeria visa-free for Americans and set conditions they must abide by while here, because we've decided that's what's best for our economy. That's how a high self esteem country acts. Not wait till the other country acts then react! Why do you think not many foreigners adopt kids from Nigeria. Go and find out about Nigerian policies |

LegacyB:Japan is an even greater country. See how they have designated a city as hometown for Nigerians BECAUSE IT BENEFITS THEM! You don't wait till the other person acts then reciprocate. You do what's best 4 you, that's mark of confidence and greatness. If Nigeria had decided to give Americans free visas BEFORE Trump does anything, that's a better indication of greatness! |

| Re: Nigeria To Demand Social Media Disclosure From Americans by DoctorStanley: 8:01pm On Aug 23, 2025 |
LegacyB:Great countries DON'T wait to react and reciprocate only when the other country acts, neither do they copy like mumu. It is definitely a sign of inferiority - the opposite of what they're trying to portray! |

| Re: Nigeria To Demand Social Media Disclosure From Americans by DoctorStanley: 2:27am On Aug 24, 2025 |
LegacyB:First of all, everything is NOT an opinion, some things are FACTS. Second of all, you're not a great country simply because you say you are. Great countries don't go about saying they're great countries while copying everybody. Great countries are proactive, they set the agenda - they don't wait to react only after someone else has acted. That's definitely a sign you're NOT a great country!! |

Commentor:Keep deceiving yourself no problem. Why did they make a whiteman the CEO of seplat and not your fellow black man? You were the one who brought the seplat example here. I have worked in most of these multinational oil companies in Nigeria, and I know the things that go on there. Believe you me, it is the Nigerians there who teach even the white men how to steal from the company. know that and know peace. |
