Doesn't really matter. It's a tactic to have a free space for the possibility of registering another first team player. Possibly Konate. So putting him in Castilla frees up first team space. Not really FFP related stuff. It already counts to their spending either way.

Remember I once mentioned that there's something dubious about signing a player for €50m but then register him with the Castilla but he'll never play for the Castilla. Apparently there's a rule stopping clubs from doing so.

Now, it's up to other clubs to help Laliga to enforce their rules but if it's Barcelona, Javier Tebas will make sure he frustrates the club to the limit.

The FFP of all clubs in La Liga still counts for their B- teams, even down to their female football teams. Reason why Barcelona Femeni has been forced to let go key players this summer.

The FFP affects all. So whether signing and putting such player in the academy team. It's a loophole which the law is yet to address. But it's actually legal. Is the kid in the age bracket for it? Yes.
Also, if they register him with Castilla, he can't play more than 10 matches since he isn't a first team player. If he does he can't go back to Castilla which essentially limits how he can be used unless properly registered. And then Madrid would be liable for a breach of rules if there is no "vacant space" in the first team should he play above the stipulated limit.

When Barcelona used "Levers" to buy and sign players in 2022 did you think that was actually the proper way to do it? It's not related to revenue generated from sporting activities and basically a loophole Laporta exploited when we signed Kounde, Lewandoski, Raphinha etc that summer.
La Liga accepted it but UEFA said no.

Those levers are the reason UEFA fined Barca about €15mn this summer and could balloon to €60mn if we failed to comply.

It's very evident that our CBs will cost us dearly this season. Araujo and Curbasi shouldn't be our top CBs. We need to go to the market to get a solid defender.
