Russia accused Ukraine Sunday of launching drone attacks that sparked a fire at a nuclear power plant in its western Kursk region overnight, as Ukraine celebrated 34 years since its independence.

Russian officials said several power and energy facilities were targeted in the overnight strikes. The fire at the nuclear facility was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported, according to the plant’s press service on Telegram. While the attack damaged a transformer, radiation levels remained within normal ranges.

The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog said it was aware of media reports that a transformer at the plants had caught fire “due to military activity,” but hadn´t received independent confirmation. It said its director-general, Rafael Mariano Grossi, said that “every nuclear facility must be protected at all times.”

Ukraine did not immediately comment on the alleged attack.

Firefighters also responded to a blaze at the port of Ust-Luga in Russia’s Leningrad region, home to a major fuel export terminal. The regional governor said approximately 10 Ukrainian drones were shot down, with debris igniting the fire.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted 95 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight into Sunday.

You just nailed it.If not for Trump, it's either Putin would have agreed to cease fire or out of frustration shoot his nuclear weapon.

Nuclear power plants are not supposed to be fired on during a war. It is an international law

The real reason no one is going to supply Ukraine with long ranhe missiles is because they know Russia has still not gone all out against Ukraine and as terrible as this war is, they don’t want to esxalate it.

If NATO countries do as Zelensky wants, it will be an all-out war and spill.

Even as it is NATO Countries are very careful as to how much they supply Ukraine. It is weird if I am at war with a country and you start supplying then weapons for free. It is almost like you joined and NATO Doesn't want to be directly involved. They count afford to be involved

Weeks before this meeting the US had sent an envoy to Russia to meet with the president.

His demands were put forward and communicated to Mr. Trump.
With the stakes of this meeting, it was expected that both sides would just meet and shake hands, Trump had even touted a second meeting involving the Ukrainian president, that must have come from a place of certain levels of reassurances.

It’s not Trump’s war, Putin doesn’t need him to visit to end the war.

My analysis, I see an escalation in the war and an alright American support for NATO/Ukraine. Trump just learned that certain levels of madness cannot be cured by ‘cutting a deal’.

I’m so glad people are waking up to truth of the man Putin.
Chaos is his bread and butter. He accused Zelenskyy of wanting to remain in power but he cannot stand an election, his authoritarian rule must run till the day he dies, and his friends also follow suit Iran and Belarus.

Outside of democracy, human have always reinvented the way they wish to be governed. We have moved from one system to another, and we are still on the part of discovery. So how someone believes that communism is the final act is preposterous.

At least North Korea has woken up from its delusion that it can win a war on land.

But Russia has Iran drones and Korea military men fighting for them.

It would be a cowardice for Putin to use nuclear weapon on Ukraine. Putin is weary of the endless war but his ego won't allow him to draw the curtin.
