DeOTR:Ayodele Fayose seems to have superior facts at his disposal, in respect of his allegation that 'Baba Iyabo', is the 'Grand father of corruption', in Nigeria. I am surprised OBJ has not deem it fit to clear his name over the 'uncomplimentary tag' added to his name, by Fayose since 2017. https://www.thecable.ng/fayose-obasanjo-govt-corrupt-nigerias-history/ |

Solsix:He was better than all governors combined and performance was good despite the little time frame. Up till date no presidents was able to bench fuel price to #450 to #550 |

brain54:A foundation for weak institutions and strong men. My friend it is just that you are in Africa good leadership like a bad one is as clear as day it does not need marketing. You will see it and feel it. |

Factcheck0001:Yaradua never do all his bidding and refuse to be controlled. Yes he awards some contracts to him and the parties leadership and allies. Same thing PMB and Tinubu did, if you think someone is controlling Tinubu, you are wrong. PMB was surrounded by wolves and cabals, those ones spoilt is government |

Factcheck0001:God bless you, too. I am not really surprised that many of those commenting on SS now do not our history or that some, as typical Nigerian, do have very short and selective memories. I just believe we owe ourselves the courtesy correcting such distortion of history by laying out the facts "as-is" whenever we come across such distortions. Thanks. |

Factcheck0001:But to the end we all have access to telecommunications and other digital facilities. Both the rich and poor access it without any hassle. Can you say same of this your precious regime, I believe what it successful gave access to is wide range of unreasonable inflation, and daily taxation... I am not sentimental here, this is what everyone can see in your almighty APC lead administration with no proof to show rather than insecurity |

Biodun556:Did Obj criticize himself and his role in the mess that is Nigeria? Or did he as usual in full exercise of his usual "god complex" use the book to talk down on everyone else but himself? |

Nigerians have stockholm syndrome, there will always be people who would stand up for previous leaders no matter how bad they were, mark my words in 15 to 20 years time, people would be saying T-Pain tried his best . From rigging to vindictive politics and stomach infrastructure, it all started with Obasanjo. Even the MTN deal, baba still received his own cut but revisionist would have us believe he's the best thing since sliced bread ![]() |

9jatriot:Reason not weird and is well known. Umaru Yaradua was younger brother to the late General Shehu Yaradua, who was easily the single Northerner or I dare say Nigerian who OBJ loved and respected the most. Giving it to Yaradua was almost lke giving it to family. |

BabaAduras:It seems the proper story is that that young lady was already OBJ'smistress long before his son Gbenga took a shine to her and married her. So the relationship simply continued: the son ought not go after the father's meat. I also understand that the lady in question was damaged goods having been sexually abused by her own father. |

Statement borne out of immense regret. OBJ and IBB had the best opportunity to fix Nigeria. But failed woefully. We have not forgotten the '$16 billion' spent on power without nothing to show for it. |

OneCandleAway:Let's not pretend that Obasanjo was a good man. He was the same man kept pushing the price of oil higher. The man kept inec under his control, and he decides who wins and lose. I can mention many of his evil. |

Image123:. You talk like a child Where did obasanjo saw 16 billion dollars for NEPA? Remember he saved 43 billions and another 25 billion and paid 12 billion as debt. So where did his administration now see 16 billion almost 50% of entire reserve to push into one sector. Get brain mr man |

Factcheck0001:Obasanjo was far from perfect. Agreed! However the stats on his performance on the economy and other critical areas were very good. Can you compare any president's achievements to his so far |

Obasanjo is a National ICON. I hope we appreciate him while alive and he also gets to see a better Nigeria in his lifetime. |

brain54:Is there any part of my statement that says he was not the best? Why are you so reactive and emotional that you can't even stop to process the simple statement put before you? Well, the funniest part is you talking about comprehension when you don't have any. Did I compare Obasanjo with anyone?? Regardless of anything else you want to say, Obasanjo is the author of the confusion that reigns in Nigeria today, because if he had not perfected the art of rigging when he should have been building strong democratic institutions, APC would never have removed Jonathan the way they did. We would at least have faith in the electoral system and thus, in the political future of the country. So, whether you think Obasanjo is the first or the last, my point to you is that you are engaging in an act of cognitive dissonance when you simultaneously extol him and mourn the current state of Nigeria. |

Factcheck0001:Unfortunately, OBJ couldn't control either of them. It's unfortunate that Yar'Adua died unexpected. It would have been an interesting thing to see if OBJ would support his second tenure if he were alive and wanted to do a second tenure..... |

The root cause of Nigeria problem was initiated by Olusegun Obasanjo.. Who breed politicians to Embezzle money during civilian and democratic regime. Apart from Lagos state that was develop from 1999-2007..what did the governor do under OBJ.. 35 State was under develop and the governor, minister and Atiku left office with wealth that belongs to the people. |

Don't play the devil's advocate. You are part and parcel of what is happening to Nigeria. Thank God, you realize you can't bribe death. You have nothing good to see Nigeria rise. |
