Three Nigerian nationals were taken into custody by Kozhikode town police on Monday after they were nabbed from Gurugram in Haryana.

Haryana police raided a synthetic drugs manufacturing facility and nabbed eight persons, including six Nigerian nationals, one Nepali native and a Mizoram native.

The operation was conducted based on information provided by Kozhikode town police following the seizure of 778g of MDMA from Annie Hall Road near Kozhikode railway station in Feb 2025. The interrogation of the accused Malappuram native Siraj revealed that he brought the drugs from New Delhi.
On examining the mobile phone records and bank accounts, it was found that he purchased the drugs from a Nigerian national and the money was transferred to the bank accounts of two other Nigerian nationals.

The investigation identified, Henry Onuchukwu, John alias David and Okolie Romanus, as key links in the case. The town police tracked their location to Gurugram, Haryana.

The information of the three Nigerian nationals, as well as their mobile tower location, was provided to Haryana police.

The ‘drug kitchens' were located inside the industrial estate.

Around 900g of cocaine, 2.3kg of unprocessed cocaine, 1.6kg of Sulfa (sulfonamides) and 43 mobile phones were seized from the facility. Police said the drugs seized had a value of Rs One crore.

Police also revealed that except for Romanus, the other foreign nationals had no valid tourist or residential visas, nor any legal documents to stay in India.

A team from Kozhikode town police station headed by inspector Jithesh conducted investigations in Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
