No More Corruption In Nigeria, Reforms Blossoming— Tinubu To Brazilian Investors by Omooba77(op): 1:17pm On Aug 26, 2025
No more corruption since I took over as president, Tinubu boasts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Brazilian investors that Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms are delivering tangible results, boasting that there is “no more corruption” since he took office.

The President made the statement during a meeting on Monday with ministers from both countries and members of the Brazil Business Group, where he reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen partnerships in technology transfer, food security, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

President Tinubu described Nigeria’s economic landscape as a “vast, untapped market full of opportunities for Brazilian companies.”

He acknowledged that the reforms he’s implemented were “initially painful, but today the result is blossoming.

It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption.”

To demonstrate the new climate of transparency, he pointed to the Central Bank of Nigeria, stating, “You don’t have to know him before getting the foreign exchange you need. The speculators are out. In our currency market, the door is open for businesses.”

Reflecting on his previous engagements in Brazil, the Nigerian leader emphasised the urgency of moving beyond symbolic ties to concrete economic cooperation.

“We have allowed some problems and activities in the past to deter us from making progress and fulfilling our promises, but today we say that is the end of that.”

According to a statement from presidential spokesperson Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu attended a state luncheon at the Itamaraty Palace, where discussions centered on deepening economic cooperation, enhancing trade, and fostering innovation-driven partnerships.

With the signing of new bilateral agreements, Nigeria and Brazil are expected to expand their economic collaboration, opening fresh opportunities for sustainable growth and technology exchange.

Let him prove it by allowing restructuring and amendments of the constitution, let anti-graft agencies, police chiefs and the judiciary be based on elections and not appointments.

Also let the penalty for stealing anything or receiving gifts items that exceeds your monthly salary be death by firing squad on national Tv, no government position is exempted even the president

Only then I will believe that corruption is no more.

Trust me he’ll be guilty of being killed by his own medicine…. Keep on fooling your followers grin

How didn't he just drop dead for such a blatant lie? His minister in charge of the FCT blatantly allocated lands worth billions to his son and relatives and the president kept mute.

We have more money in the economy, no more corruption. We have the governor of the Central Bank here.
You don’t have to know him before you get the foreign exchange that you need.
Is this not what the President is referring to?, the message flew over the head of bitter people.

Baba weeerey🤣
As at the time he said this, corruption was not in Nigeria. The "Nigerian Corruption" was in Brazil on a state visit. So he was technically right.🤣

This man needs to stop.

An associate and family friend renewed his certificate of roadworthiness (or MoT) for a passenger vehicle earlier this month with the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS). In true Naija style, the VIS staff accept cash payments ONLY and no receipts are issued. undecided

My associate had escalated this long running problem all the way to the LASG secretariat a few years ago but nothing came out of it. It makes no sense that in 2025, years after his initial complaints, a government department as important as the VIS collects cash payments only and doesn't issue receipts. undecided

Same thing with vehicle licences. For over 6 years, this fellow had insisted on renewing his vehicle licence through commercial banks even though the Autoreg portal was usually down, 7 times out of 10. At least through the banks, he was sure of getting a receipt with the amount paid clearly stated. Until things changed for the worse during Buhari's/Tinubu's APC. In the end, powerful interests prevailed and commercial banks finally stopped processing Autoreg payments. Motorists now have to go through shady, so called 'agents' with arbitrary licence renewal fees. And of course, there are no receipts for payments made. undecided

A thousand and one photographs with Brazilian officials will not hide the ugly truth: government in Nigeria is broken. The rot goes all the way to the top.

Instead of getting to work and cleaning up this country's filthy MDAs and their ugly practices, we are fed all sorts of empty proclamations and sermons by the BAT online media crew. Propaganda will not fix this country's problems. Not now, not ever.

The administration wants to roll out its hypocritical, so called tax reform law starting from January next year - and the revenue collection framework for mission critical parties like the VIS is still based on cash payments with no receipts issued. In 2025. undecided

BAT and his team are not serious about fixing this country's problems. undecided

They never were.
