This is another washy from this government. I foresee another means of filtering away billions of dollars through a white elephant project. When did the phase 1 of this project commenced and completed in the first place.

Tinubu has signed a law that allows states and companies to run the three segments of power business, why is the FG still investing in national grid? Give loans to states that are willing to take their destiny into their hands! Why is running this country such a rocket science?
Woud u still hold ur governor ccountable if there i no light.have u ever held ur governor accountable even when the FG gives the more money to run their states.

Much as the electricity law has come to stay, the Governors are still slow to fully executing it. Much of what they are doing is largely implementing the distribution segment while they have shown less interest in the generation segment, partly because á is capital intensive. We don't really expect them to do it all by themselves, the law empowers them to attract private investors as parrners which makes it much easier. But as we speak, they rather the FG bears the burden of generating and transmitting while they only distribute in their states. However, to whom much is given, much is expected, Governors should be doing better.

-Kiss the truth!
Most Obidients won't appreciate this insight, anything that insults the central Govt is a welcome idea.
In other words, most of these Governors are wasters of funds, they have no idea of how to attract investments, wasting money on travel tours to attract FDIs but end up with nothing.

Guy, God will bless you for this comment. Some people are just too bitter to think clearly and see the difference for themselves.

Let's just allow Tinubu complete all these projects and then at the end of his tenure we appraise him by checking the differences between his administration and those of the past presidents.

Tinubu till 2031!

If you don’t adopt☝️this policy in this administration, you’ll end up like a woven tangled web.
Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing the worse electricity power availability in my community. So, no! Tinubu doesn’t get any points.
What is the name of your community, let us know if you are a bad belle

Amen, Amen. God bless you for this wonderful prayer. The peace of the tree is the peace of the bird that perch on it. As long as I am determined to spend the rest of my life in this country and also the fact that the much I have been able to acquire over the time through my professional works and other aspirations. I pray for this country Nigeria to succeed. I pray for the President to succeed in all the good plans he's making for Nigeria. I pray for our military to succeed in their doggedness and systematic planning against terrorists, bandits and kidnappers. I pray for peace all over the region of Nigeria. You need to imagine what's happening in Gaza, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Yemen etc to be able to say a heartfelt thank you Jesus and say a big prayer for Nigeria. War or hunger would never be our portion in Nigeria, that's more reason we need to be positive, say positive things to this country so that it would manifest in our lives.....

emkz:
When Nigeria had surplus, Atiku admitted to squandering our funds by paying some electricity contractors 100%. He admitted the contractors disappeared.

Today, Atiku wants to rescue Nigeria.

Had Atiku and Obasanjo done things methodically, Nigeria would have been better off for it.

Adding 12,000MW to our national nal grid and increasing transmission capacity would boost our electricity supply.

May Tinubu continue to succeed.

May Nigeria continue to win.

Seems this Minister of Power just suddenly woke up from his slumber. He's eminent loss in the forthcoming election if selected as the flag bearer in Oyo state is already eminent. This has even been made worse by the loss of his party in the last House of Assembly bye-election. Adelabu is not a serious human being. You slept on phase one since 2018...this should be moved to jokes section.

Go through the article so you will see your answer. The first phase is about strengthening the national grid from collapsing. When is the last time you hear of the grid collapsing?

Give loans? Loans? Where do some of you cook all this from?

The State Governments already have the empowering instrument of the law! They should get to work in getting investors and stop being lazy!

Any governor worth his salt who wants to see improved and stable power should get to work. Lagos has keyed in and nothing stops others from doing same!

The States are not keeping up and the FG have no option but to kickstart the process and this contract predates this law that gives the states power to contribute their quota in the power sector!

May God bless Bola Ahmed Tinubu. May he prosper and may Nigeria progress.

Everything this man is doing is quite progressive though more is still expected however, if past leader both state and federal level were aggressive with wooing investors I want to believe nigeria would have been better for it.

The man, with all the many challenges is selling nigeria in a positive light trying to make Nigeria better for it. Now I wish he will be there for atleast 20years. Because I have seen most progressive economies have most time one ruler for a long time and it pays alot because of progressive governance. Eg china, Russia, UAE, just name it. Democracy distroys progress. America is currently suffering it.
He won't be there forever.
However - when he vacate the seat in 2031 and base on his antecedents for scouting talents - I can assure you that his successor will reap all the praise for his visionary leadership as most of the bottlenecks that hinders ease of good governance in Nigeria would have been removed!

The governors are what we call Monkey dey work Bamboo dey chop. They are so lackadaisical about providing steady power supply in their individual States.

They want the federal government to be doing everything. It is high time they reverted the constitution of Nigeria to make the states to start working for the central government and not the central government breastfeeding the states.

With that, Nigeria will witness rapid development. Any state that doesn't embark on development, the governor of such state should be held by his people.

Power has improved a bit in my area, I just hope they actualise the plan.
Truly power has improved so much at my area or residence. Though we are on the Band A which we are begging to reduce the cost for us.

But also, some places like Agbara , Badagry, iyana Era, igando and Ikorodu aren't enjoying this light at all . Some even have got this one day off two days off thing . They still wont have good power during the "on" days

it's quite sad to know that they aren't getting same treatment as we do.
