There was mild drama today at Mile 2, Lagos State, as a motorist was seen confronting some Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO).

It is not clear what led to the altercation, but the driver was captured taking off his shirt and almost stripping completely before onlookers intervened to stop him.

The situation escalated when more motorists rallied around to prevent the VIO officers from arresting the driver.

The unusual scene quickly drew the attention of passersby, as a large crowd gathered to watch the dramatic encounter.

The most outrageous part is how selective they're in the extortion business! Unruly violators in rickety vehicles are let off the hook - they know those ones are bad market.
Flashy cars and young riders are their major target.

Why is stripping themselves naked the go-to defense mechanism in Lagos state? If a man feels unjustly treated by agents of the law aren't there better ways to seek redress? Bunch of spineless sisified men all over Lagos.

Meanwhile, even with all their operations, you find danfo and commercial buses without indicators, brake lights, side mirrors, wipers, not to talk of fire extinguishers.

If vehicles are compulsorily checked for roadworthiness every 12 months, why are VIO officers and FRSC officers chasing motorists all over the place?

Why do they mount road blocks to check the same tyres, fire extinguishers, etc, thereby causing traffic?

Why are rickety vehicles, especially commercial buses, still on the roads?

Better ways.
If there are better ways to seek redress he would have explored it. But all the better ways have been blocked and compromised. Actions like this happens because there is only one way it will end and no other ways.
If all of them say you pass one way and you no pass one way Wetin you go do.

What is wrong with stripping himself?

In your present location, am sure you have personally confronted all VIO men and taken them of the roads

One remove cutlass chase those weurey in ilorin months back. Those guys don't have respect for motorists

Na small small them go begin dey collect. Nigeria is already hard as it is. Then you want to display wickedness

I watched the video as the VIO officers abandoned their stranded colleagues.

That is not a good team work abandoning your colleagues to suffer in the midst of crisis.

They should be apprehended and punished.

I have witnessed several near death accidents caused by this so called VIO officers, they terrorise motorists plying that route all in the name of inspections.

It is dangerous when a people are run by emotions and feelings without using rational thinking and objectivity.

The people need enlightenment.

He must have gone on Augmentin IV drip for days afterwards!

The annoying one is how they ambush people on bad portions of the road or in traffic caused by the inefficiency of govt itself ......they have no reason whatsoever being on the road.....calling yourself road safety and standing on same unsafe road to prey on innocent motorists.

It was later we heard most of the drivers doing that might really be carrying heavy exhibits.

The problem we are having is that all these agencies are working for their personal purse and not for the government.
