NAFDAC Returns ₦5 Million To A Store Owner by jmoore(op): 11:11am On Aug 27, 2025
NAFDAC has returned a ₦5 million cheque to its owner, Mr. Godfrey Chukwudi. The money was discovered during the Open Drug Market operation at Tenant Road, Aba, Abia State. The sum was counted in the presence of officials from the DSS, the Military, and the Police, who participated in the operation.

Following clearance, it was confirmed that the funds belonged to a POS operator. The money was subsequently returned in the presence of Mr. Chima Amadi, Chairman of the Ekumi Traders Medicine Dealers Association Union, alongside NAFDAC Directors, Pharm. Shaba Mohammed (fsi) and Dr. Martins Iluyomade (fsi).

Some NAFDAC officials stole many cash from shops raided during their operations in Aba and Onitsha. Most of which have not been returned to the owners.

The returned the check because it would be useless to them since there's a name of someone on the check book.

This is just one out of many...

What about the rest?
What about other non-drug or food items that were stolen during the nafdac raid?

If it was cash they won't have returned, they know they can't cash the cheque.

Tinubu should step down for a more competent leader.

Re: NAFDAC Returns ₦5 Million To A Store Owner by AustineE1: 11:31am On Aug 27, 2025
Let's wait till we hear from the original owner and confirm that the money was not tampered with! I just hope is not just an attempt to launder their already shattered image.
When federal institutions now bear 'tribal marks',there will be nothing left to be desired.

Fulani. Learn to read before commenting. The money was in cash and was mistakenly taken to be proceeds from the sale of fake drugs. Nafdac is just using cheque to return the money it's rightful owner.

Though Nafdac officials would have swallowed the money if VeryDarkMan hadn't raised alarm initially.

No, the person who made that SM post didn't clarify it properly. The person is likely saying that NAFDAC raided the store, discovered the sum, counted it in the presence of all and it was 5 million. They left with it as exhibit and later paid it back in cheque after the owner settled with them. They didn't give the cheque back. Instead, they issued a cheque to the owner of the money in question.

NAFDAC should do their job like NDLEA is doing a tremendous job. Say no to fake drugs.

How about the money stolen in ABA and Ogbo Ogwo market in Onitsha.

It's disheartening how these NAFDAC people are operating. Very subjective in their operations. Treatment that can't happen in other regions.

Yet, south east governors and stakeholders keep quiet to these impunities.

The traders might have erred in their business dealings, but denying them, including innocent ones, freedom to continue with their businesses by sealing their shops since Feb 8,is unacceptable. Wicked and demeaning.

Cash ie liquidity is the lifeblood of POS business in Nigeria and a government agency seized cash belonging to a POS business and the agency is returning cheque. Pls bear in mind that these POS people source for cash with money that is they buy cash funny right? But that's the reality.

If the shop was involved in illegal drug sale or related stuff, the money or whatever that is found in that shop will never be retured.

This is how it is across the world, its not a nigeria thing, you caught kiddnappers with guns, money and phones, everything is gone, its evidence.
