Termite is seriously attacking my coconuts. It has succeeded in killing some due to oversight. 3rd one has a fodder tree for my goats in front of it.

1. These kittens all died after the mother died (likely from snake bite) while still breast feeding them. 2. Dog 3. Main goat pen before partitioning 4. Some goats during play time Quota exhausted again.

The mama goat finally kidded its twins this morning around 5am. The kids are hybrid. A cross of sahelian & WAD (West African dwarf) 1. Mother & kids (Twin Kids weighed 1.5kg each as opposed to the other kids that weighed 1kg for twins & 1.3kg for single birth). They are both females. 2. The Sahelian He-goat 3. The WAD he-goat that fathered the other kids earlier showed on 1st page (this male had since been sold off because of too much fight with the sahelian).

So inspiring! Farming is full of seasons. Double blessings on the farm, new goat kids on the ground and harvest in the bag! Proof that consistency and care always pay off. Congratulations brother. |

I've also had little encounter with thieves. Following are the ones that were caught. 1. Young boys who harvested cucumber fruits while on their way to swim in a stream 2. Iron materials thief. 3. Chicken thief 4. Ripe Pawpaw thief (Fruit bat) The iron materials thief actually did me dirty. Items that were recovered from him include pieces of roofing sheets, charcoal burning pot, kerosene stove, etc. Above all and most painful is my staking post ground opening rod which was never recovered. Galvanized iron pipes too were never recovered. The chicken thief specializes in killing and eating mature chickens alive right there where it catches it. The fruit bat fell into a pond and drowned.

safarifarms:Sorry about the loss. One can't but have something of such in a place like that. |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by 50JBL: 6:55am On Aug 27, 2025 |
safarifarms:The chicken thief looks lyk a parrot. Do you have walnut on your farm? |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by safarifarms(op): 9:11am On Aug 27, 2025 |
50JBL:No its not a parrot. Its more like a hawk or kite. |

safarifarms:Please, was your garden egg also from extracted seeds? |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by eddyline(m): 12:05pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
safarifarms:Weldone sir. Could you help with how you were able to nurse the plantains like this? |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by eddyline(m): 12:07pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
safarifarms:Looks like Indian lemon |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by safarifarms(op): 12:11pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
eddyline:No. I bought the seeds from an agro store. But I believe extracted seeds would have equally worked. I'd received some extracted seeds from someone and it germinated but I didn't take pictures. |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by safarifarms(op): 12:23pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
eddyline:Just get the base of a plantain or banana stem. Clear of the corm then wash the stem base. Some people do some form of heating to kill possible pathogens (I don't know how the heating is done safely to preserve the stem). Cut the stem base into multiple sections. Make sure each section has a node. Place them on soil mixed with cured manure in a container. The nodes should be facing up. Then cover the sections with sawdust and water. The nursery should be in a shade. Mine was within an unused poultry house till they grew reasonably sized seedlings. For better results, before taking to the field you could transfer to nursery bags and keep in partial shade for a while before taking to the field for planting. |

safarifarms:Pls how much and where did you get the gas brooder |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by safarifarms(op): 11:22am On Aug 29, 2025 |
Musty112:It has really been a long while. The gas brooder is a locally fabricated one. I think I got it for around 20 or 25k about 4 years ago. Someone had advertised it on a whatsapp group. |

| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by safarifarms(op): 3:44pm On Sep 10, 2025 |
Hardeybohwarley:Well I didn't think corn will be something special as most people have seen corn being planted several times. The grass pictures have been posted before. |
| Re: My Little Farming Adventure In Picutures by Hardeybohwarley(m): 4:22pm On Sep 10, 2025 |
safarifarms:Not minding the fact that corn is a common crop, pictures add some magic to the post. |
