I can say Monday to Sunday, Am to Pm, Dusk to Dawn, Day to Night. They all show progression and range. 9 hours a day to 5 days a week is just baseless. Thank you

This is a misleading information. I did research and I found out that 9-5 job is one that you work from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday.

9-5 is simply a British English. A British slang. It originated in Britain. It connotes the typical office work

In Britain, they basically work from 9am to 5pm, because of the weather there, hence the term. It's just a slang that became a word and made it into the dictionary
