mehn this is the worst disease out there at the moment
because one can't even tell the real cause
people are saying alcohol, local herbs and blood pressure
i have read about a young boy not up 12 years have ckd
This disease wasn't as rampant as before
i am suspecting the kind of water, foods we consume because it is really baffling
Although it occurs mostly among the elderly but presently the young population are also having the disease
We really need to do research about this disease before it consumes us all

I HATE TO SAY IT BUT HIV/AIDS IS BETTER THAN THIS DISEASE
THIS DISEASE IS A CURSE
IT IS FINANCIALLY DRAINING AND THE CHANCES OF SURVIVAL IS NOT 100%
I think it has being on existence because Black people are more prone to the disease.

Nigeria always topping chart in everything bad and negative, it's well, sighs
Stop disgracing yourself on social media na? You can't even comprehend what you read. Nigeria is number 88 on the list with an estimated number of 24. Can't you see other African countries in the top 10? People like you are the ones who are always waiting to hear something bad about Nigeria. Please check your mentality.

SMH!

If you want to hide anything from a black man, put it in a book.
See you supporting an ignorant person. Nigeria is number 88 on the list with 24 deaths. Lesotho and Swaziland are in the top 10. So what he was saying doesn't make any sense at all. People like him are the people who are always waiting to hear bad news about Nigeria. From the pattern of his comment, I don't need rocket science to know the region he is from. Please don't be quick to support such. Go and read the post well again

Brother even in advance CKD state, a good dialysis routine and well controlled HBP drugs can improve and the continue his normal life with caution. I mean patient are not meant to stress eat high fiber food look in sodium and potassium avoid red meat, plant based protein. Fish, chicken and egg white are better alternatives. Stay away from alcohol. It ain’t a pleasant experience
There is no cure. Dialysis is not a cure, transplant is not a cure, having a better diet and watching BP and Blood Sugar levels will not cure the condition. The condition can only be managed but not cured. I am a doctor and a transplant recipient, so I know what i am saying here.

Transplant of a healthy kidney isn't a cure? How so?. I know someone who had a transplant and is perfectly fine, though remains on medication for compatibility issues.

I think you misunderstood me.

I was not supporting him. I was pointing out the fact that Nigeria wasn't doing bad according to the article but the person couldn't even read it and still came to their own negative conclusion.

Transplant is not a cure. Please research.

Why a transplant isn't a cure
The underlying disease remains: The original cause of your CKD, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, doesn't disappear after a transplant. You'll need to manage these conditions to protect your new kidney.
Risk of rejection: The body's immune system can attack the new kidney, leading to rejection.
Lifelong medication: To prevent rejection, you must take anti-rejection (immunosuppressant) medications every day for the rest of your life.
