Trust broken especially by people in governance and people of authority can hardly be fixed by discerning minds. Also he who come to equity must come with clean hands.

How do you explain that Tinubu's Alphabeta was collecting taxes, levies on behalf of the government in Lagos and other states within his grip while he held sway as the Emperor of Lagos, isn't that conflict of interest?

Working countries and society place their government in a position of trust and when the trust is missing or leaking, like it is in our jurisdiction, questions, doubts and concerns will be raised about the institutions intentions especially if the citizens are not getting seeming values for their taxes. It is no rocket science.

Reason why credible and less greedy people should be at the helm of affairs.

What question?

You were trying to politicise a technical issue. Does that make sense?

Is your coalition in support of tax evasion?[/quote]

Even Agbadorianistic agberoes who have never paid a dime of Tax are supporting this clearly politically motivated witch-hunting of opposition..

All the laws and regulations they are passing is geared towards one goal- Impoverish Nigeria and beat down opposition in order to enthrone Tyranny..

He paid duty on all his cars when they were imported so what are you saying , so now the govt charges tax for flaunting?
Oh my God!

Are you as ignorant as this?

Import duties are the same as income tax?

Gosh!

I am also a trained accountant so I know what I am saying , from the article its clear the mean personal income tax , if it was CIT they wouldn't be writing him directly, if it was capita gains tax they will be writing to the custodians of his portfolio, if its VAT he cant owe VAT .

This clearly political mischief and pressure being applied
Yes, it's income tax

You are the ignorant person saying he has been flaunting material things ...Dino is unemployed for now and his income is zero , he lives of his portfolio and any gain on them is charged at source ...Some of the cars you are jealous about are over 10 years old in that house for your info and he has since paid every Personal income tax due to government when he was still employed

Dino "Ferrari" Melaye loves his social media bragging rights so much that he forgot the tax man is watching all that boasting.

Anyway a man who has looted so much money will have no problem at all coming up with $120K USD to setting this small irritant tax bill.

We look forward to the next social media song that Dino Ferrari will drop once he has paid off this minor bill to the tax man.
in Birmingham city UK...my brother was dashed a car by his colleague just second year that he moved to UK..... Because of Tax....l was surprised that someone can be that generous... not knowing that he just dodge indebtedness
Re: Dino Melaye Faces Criminal Prosecution For Tax Evasion by OSUNADC: 6:29pm On Aug 27, 2025
The government or this regime cannot be trusted by a good number of the populace. People will willingly pay their taxes if they are getting commensurate value for them. What's incoherent here? Tinubu is a Tax merchant, he is already using the Lagos template to tax the people of even the air they breathe in yet the masses are at the lowest ebb of living standard. Where are the proceeds of the taxes going? This is basic knowledge. I don't have to be an economist or tax accountant to decipher this.

Some of you just like to comment on what you have no knowledge about.

Rather than keep quiet, you continue to reveal your deep ignorance
You don't really have to quote me twice. Just modify.

Anyway, what kind of tax is this? Is it regressive or progressive?

Re: Dino Melaye Faces Criminal Prosecution For Tax Evasion by Franking: 6:41pm On Aug 27, 2025
Only opposition politicians are good for this kind of treatment, abi? Tinumbu I hope you are keeping records.

Dino, the contestant who made cool money from his own election, didn’t even bother to come out and cast his vote for himself… lol.

Am I seeing this clearly. N274 Million as tax for a year and N234million the year before.. I will see this as computer error, that means he must be making more than 2 billion yearly for his taxes to be this high..
A lot of people don't know Dino is not your regular career politician.

Someone had told me some years back that he was already rich before joining politics. Even I had my doubts.

Now that it's come out that he's earning that much while being out of office, oya, let the professors come and tell us how he earned taxable income from crime.

Melaye is currently unemployed and depends on rentals and goodwill so assessing him at 274 million Naira is unjust
It is his responsibility though to show that he Owes less..

The govt can Inflate their assessment to scare him into action

The hunting of the opposition continues, we have now legalized persecution using Tax.

Next year go hot for those who dey show convoys and mansions.
Everything should not be termed as persecution. Tax evasion is a crime in a saner clime and you people stop defending nonsense because he's an opposition politician. Tell him to go and pay his tax, period.

Do not pretend to be stupid, cos you are not. Do not dance for anyone, see things as they are. A lot of people want to impress Tinubu, a lot of people in offices also know that if Tinubu loses election, their enjoyment of free money is over.

They will stop at nothing, to bring down any opposition using instrumentality of state, legitimately.

His tax liability 234,896,000 reflects Nigeria (234) and Section 896 of Nigeria's Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020 grin. Or 274M for his North American (code) business empire I always like that country, Nigeria--everything is always codified.

You’re not a professional accountant clearly. Your write up states so. You need a refund from your school honestly. I know you don’t have ICAN. Am 100 percent sure.
