Nothing else. Touring a country especially for the first time is at the discretion of the tourist. Just follow the basic travel tips and have Google translate.

Generally, the Japanese embassy/consulate is very strict about complete and accurate documentation. What you submit should match their official requirements exactly — no more, no less. But you can make your application stronger by paying attention to details. Here are some tips:

---

✅ Key Documents (Standard Requirements)

Visa application form (filled correctly, signed, no blanks if possible).

Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity and blank pages).

Recent passport photograph (strict size & background rules).

Daily travel itinerary (Taizai Yoteihyo) – clear and realistic.

Flight booking (round trip) – usually reservation, not paid ticket.

Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter if staying with someone).

Bank statement (last 3–6 months) – to prove financial capacity.

Proof of employment/student status – employment letter, leave approval, or student letter.

If sponsored: sponsor’s bank statement, employment details, relationship proof.

✨ Extra Touches That Strengthen Your Application

1. Well-structured itinerary – Make it look realistic (don’t cram too many cities in short days).

2. Cover letter – Not always required, but writing a short polite letter explaining your purpose (e.g., tourism, experiencing Japanese culture, visiting specific attractions) shows seriousness.

3. Financial sufficiency – Ensure your bank statement reflects consistent income/savings (avoid sudden large deposits).

4. Strong ties to home country – Include supporting documents (employment letter with return date, family documents, school enrollment, property ownership, etc.) to show you’ll return.

5. Neat, consistent documents – Dates, names, spellings must all match (passport vs. bookings vs. forms).
God bless you bro..

What about booking appointment?

I really want to go to Japan and buy used auto parts, make contact of used car scrappers and dealers within 2 weeks, will that be possible?
Can I apply for tourist visa and my travel itinerary will be about going to different scrap yards everyday and no much sightseeing, will the visa be granted or I should apply for a business visa?

Business visa may require invitation letter which I have no one to give me.

Oh thank you. My question is about if one can easily get visa using a language or masters program. Which one is easier?
Also, in terms of work and study in Japan can one be able to find part time job easily without knowing the language?
Lastly, can one get admission into some language schools without the 150 hours study time

The one that offers you a COE is what gets you the visa. Language schools prefer younger applicants, say 18-25. Graduate schools are more liberal about the age of the applicant.

Also, in terms of work and study in Japan can one be able to find part time job easily without knowing the language?
Yes. Part time jobs can be obtained pretty easy without language proficiency. However, permanent jobs are hard to get without knowing the language.

Lastly, can one get admission into some language schools without the 150 hours study time
This requirement is mostly given to citizens of countries where there is no Japanese language school. Additionally, it's given to older applicants, say those above 30 years old. To beat this, target language schools in areas with low population, especially Southern and Northern Japan. Fukuoka and Hokkaido areas. These ones want money, so they won't have strict admission requirements.

Thank you so much for your response. I was contemplating to go to Germany for masters in pharmaceutical or Japan through language course first then masters later. I guess Japan is better since it's easy to get part time job without the language and also longer working hours

Except the German visa policy of Category A for scholarship abd first class students and Category B for everyone else has changed, I recommend Japan. The snag is your age, since you want to opt for language school (a great path). If you see a language school that agrees to admit you, choose Japan. The visa is less of a problem once the COE is obtained by the school and sent to you the applicant.

It's like all schools require the 150 hours study lol. It's listed on the requirements to submit. I have checked some in fukuoka, and I'm still checking

TICAD( and Kisarazu

https://statehouse.gov.ng/news/japan-designates-city-of-kisarazu-as-hometown-for-nigerians/

The government of Japan on Thursday named the city of Kisarazu as the hometown for Nigerians willing to live and work in the country as part of its strategic efforts to deepen cultural diplomacy, promote economic growth and enhance workforce productivity.

Under this new partnership, announced on the sidelines of the 9th Tokyo International Conference for African Development, the Japanese government will create a special visa category for highly skilled, innovative, and talented young Nigerians who want to move to Kisarazu to live and work.

Artisans and other blue-collar workers from Nigeria who are ready to upskill will also benefit from the special dispensation visa to work in Japan.

Regarding the “JICA Africa Hometown” announced by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the TICAD 9, there have been reports and statements both domestically and internationally that contain information contrary to the facts. The facts regarding this matter are as follows:

At the TICAD 9, JICA announced the launch of the “JICA Africa Hometown”, which aims to strengthen exchanges between African countries and Japanese local governments based on the experience gained through its previous projects. Under this program, four cities in Japan are designated as “home towns” for four African countries.

Under this program, JICA plans to promote exchanges between the four Japanese cities and the four African countries through various activities, including the organization of exchange events involving JICA overseas cooperation volunteers.

On the other hand, there are no plans to take measures to promote the acceptance of immigrants or issue special visas for residents of African countries, and the series of reports and announcements concerning such measures are not true.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will continue to make efforts to ensure that appropriate reporting and statements regarding this matter are carried out.

Then it should be a new policy as the government earlier this year revamped the requirements for operating language schools. So, that could be the reason.

Yeah, it's a new policy, your either posses a minimum of JPLT N5 certificate or show convincing evidence that you have undergone at least 150 hours of Japanese Language Lessons outside Japan.

If you really need to enjoy Osaka, Nara and Kyoto, kindly purchase kintetsu train weekend ticket which is usually valid for 3days(Friday -monday) depending on your preferred date. You should purchase the Osaka amazing pass valid for a day or two depending on what you want but with the Osaka amazing pass you can visit lots of places in Osaka for free (attractive location) including the popular cruise both sunset and day cruise, make use of the public transport system like the bus and kintetsu train(you can ask the station man)and you can as well have some discount. If you love night life, there is an African bar which was like 10mins walk from namba station. I stayed in a hotel that usual offer unlimited consumption of alcohol and soft drinks 😜 😜 as welcome package( I will check the name of the hotel later in my email).

From Tokyo to Osaka, there are usually night buses if you want to be economical in spending

I hope 😂 to visit Osaka again

Thank you for your response. Please, is it normal for a school to ask for full payment of tuition whether 1 year program or two years, you will pay all at once before they apply for COE? And they didn't ask for bank statement

They should have asked for bank statements to verify if you can afford the living expenses for the entire MSc program. For instead, present statements to support your living expenses for two years.

Tuition fees at most universities, especially the national ones, are paid per semester. Two semesters in one year. My time, I paid the admission fee (which is similar to acceptance fee in Nigerian parlance) and the first semester tuition fees of the first year. One year tuition fees is divided into two semesters. As of then, most national universities had the rough equivalent of $5K per annum. So, students will pay $2500 per semester.

You have to read the school's tuition fees payment policy on its website. Every school outlines how much is required and when to pay.

Yes, it's language school
Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 4:04am On Aug 28, 2025

Yes, it's language school
That"s most likely the reason why.
People get into language school, and upon landing , jump out of their programmes.
To curb such visa violations, I guess the govt. invoked those new requirements.

It has been mentioned here severally, graduate school or undergraduate school is a much cheaper and better route compared to language school.

Also @gerrard59 alos gave you more insights to your question.
