damoobaba:Science never shock you better scientific electricity before or scatter you with bomb before, you will respect scientific powers ![]() Well, we have seen when scientists traveled all the way from Europe to meet traditional yoruba powerful people. The result was that they killed many of the traditionalists, took their carvings and idols away and also enslaved them. Imagine, less than 1 million scientific oriented people encaged millions of traditionalists in their own enclaves ![]() |

aribisala0:Well exactly - let me ask a question. The parts added for lagos expansion whom do they belong to before then? Were they just lying there with nobody living there? |

BreconHills:I don't see how that is relevant My point is to correct how people use the word Lagos. Let us be clear what you mean when you say Lagos Lagos City or Lagos state they are not the same thing just like Oyo Enugu Ondo Kaduna Sokoto Bauchi Kano There is a state and a town When you brought up something from 1863 clearly you could not have been talking about Lagos State which did not exist but your post could have mislead people into thinking that was a census for Lagos state |

I wish our political office holder should be made to swear with the gods of fathers, Ogun, Oya, songo, etc, that have no pity or Marcy for anyone who go contrary to the oath they took before them. Bible and Quran? They don't fear these ones. |

geoworldedu:They were better organised and had better leadership, that's all. Science wasn't even as developed as it is now. And if you think advanced countries like china and india don't have their own jazz, then o dont understand the world you live in. Even science has elements of SPIRITUALITY in it. |

damoobaba:Did I disagree spirituality? What I understand about spirituality is that scientific spirituality is the highest form of spirituality and no religious spiritually can have effect on a scientific person like me. |

AntiChristian:What is idolatry? Oyibo man will come here and tell you that your culture is idolatry and gave you one history book call Bible. The same people that took your people as slaves. On the ship that took people away as slaves was written "Jesus Saves'! You all are brainwashed. When the Pope died they did their juju tradition to bury him. Your moniker is even "Antichristian" Christianity and Islam are artificial religion. |

AntiChristian:How are you sure what the white men gave you is the truth? Don't ask me out of point questions, I am not telling you that there is no God, there is God . But Christianity is history, it is not your religion the white men forced it on you. |

| Re: Isese Day 2025: Lagos To Host 3 Million Participants by BreconHills(m): 6:02am On Aug 28, 2025 |
aribisala0:There is a difference between lagos colony and lagos state as you have pointed out and the data clearly refers to lagos colony. What is interesting about that data is that the returnees who claim to be thevreue indigenes are not in fact the majority. Now when lagos state became a state proper parts of the old western region were added to it. These parts were hundred percent yoruba. Now when you add the data from the first lagos census of record. Let's be precise and call it lagos colony and you add the parts added on - lagos is undoubtedly yoruba. Whether it is at the colony level or at the expanded promulgated state level. |
| Re: Isese Day 2025: Lagos To Host 3 Million Participants by BreconHills(m): 6:18am On Aug 28, 2025 |
aribisala0:Lagos has existed from the 15th century. For goodness sake it wasnt discovered in 1970's. The colony of Lagos was declared by the British in 1862 as an expression of British control not as an expression of legal fact. The census posted was taken a The earliest indigenous settlers were the Aworis as far back as the 15th and 16th century. Gowons promulgation of lagos did not reset history. It merely expanded lagos and gave it legislative force. Furthermore the areas added to it were significantly yoruba. Lagos has been yoruba from antiquity. Its actually not difficult if no unnecessary contortions are being made |

BreconHills:Are you from Lagos state? I am Did you read what you quoted? I don’t think so Please stop throwing that word Lagos around carelessly It is important to be specific what you mean Lagos is not an Indigenous word Eko has been around a long time not Lagos Gowon did not expand Lagos . He created Lagos state Lagos state is not Lagos City Oba of Lagos territory was not expanded by Gowon Those of us from Lagos state find it ignorant and annoying when people keep throwing the word Lagos around Be specific what you mean. SAY LAGOS STATE LAGOS ISLAND LAGOS MAINLAND etc It is equally annoying for you to quote me when you obviously did not bother to read what you quoted |
| Re: Isese Day 2025: Lagos To Host 3 Million Participants by aribisala0(m): 9:32am On Aug 28, 2025 |
BreconHills:Lagos state is majority Yoruba as we know it today but not 100% There is a minority Egun group in Badagry axis I should point out that from antiquity we have always had itinerant Ijaw fishermen and fishermen from neighbouring countries that were created by Colonial powers Ikorodu and Epe are Ijebu Enclaves |

2mch:Who is They ? You just jumped in without reading or comprehension go back and comprehend what you quoted You are not from Lagos state . If you were you won't keep repeating Lagos There are literally hundreds of fishing camps in What is now Lagos State The vast majority of fishing camps in Lagos state are run by Ijebus not Ilaje There is no way you are from Lagos state Do you even know the riverine deities in Lagos state? What is Lagos? Tell me where on Lagos Island Fishermen used to camp in |
| Re: Isese Day 2025: Lagos To Host 3 Million Participants by BreconHills(m): 5:45pm On Aug 28, 2025 |
aribisala0:You have actually said nothing at all except your obvious indignation that in a democracy nobody can speak about Lagos except so called Lagosians. Your desire for some sort of distinction is curious and speaks more about the state of your mind than the topic at hand. I suggest you compare what you wrote here and what I said closely and sloooowly. |
