President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is back in Abuja after a 4–day state visit to Brazil where he met with top leaders and business executives.

According to the Presidency, the trip was focused on strengthening economic, trade and energy partnerships between Nigeria and Brazil. Tinubu discussed opportunities for Petrobras, Brazil’s oil giant, to return to Nigeria and participate in unlocking the country’s vast gas resources. He also spoke on aviation cooperation, agricultural exchange and investment in infrastructure.

During the visit, Tinubu stressed that Nigeria is open for serious business and will not allow corruption or bottlenecks to frustrate investors. Reports say Brazilian companies expressed interest in collaborating with Nigerian partners in the areas of energy, manufacturing and transport.

On arrival in Abuja today, the President was received by top government officials and service chiefs. His aides described the visit as “productive” and “timely” given Nigeria’s current economic challenges.

Now the big question is — will all these agreements and promises from Brazil turn into real benefits for ordinary Nigerians, or will it end up as another foreign trip with plenty grammar and no results?
