Why are Nigerian families and extended families so culturally narcissistic in weddings?

Why do you preach humility and respect then outright lie about the not mandatory status of your wedding traditions?

Why is it you always demanding your side is respected?
Your culture is done?
Your families are honoured?

You literally get paid for marriage and you are incapable as a nationality of just accepting the bride price graciously and gratefully as it is a gift not a legal requirement and just be happy with that?

Its in your nature for your families to invade something about two people and make it about celebrating you, I want to know why its always you you you you from parents and extended family

You always focus on the bride price part when thats not my issue

I know full well its a gift but since when does humility and respect mean making ridiculous demands of the actual wedding designed to humiliate people and you insulting them if they say no?
