Suspected Amasiri Warriors Invade Ebonyi Community, Behead Farmer Amid Land Dispute.

Tragedy struck on Tuesday, August 26, at Okporojo Idima, Oso Edda in the Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, as armed warriors from neighbouring Amasiri community reportedly invaded the farmland of one Mr. Dike Nnachi, beheaded him, and took his head away as a trophy.

The attack marks a continuation of violent hostilities in the area, coming barely four months after the April invasion in which at least four people, including a pregnant woman and her 12-year-old son, were brutally killed.

That incident also left property worth millions of naira destroyed.

Residents told reporters that the latest killing has deepened fears across Oso Edda, as locals now question the effectiveness of the state government’s ongoing peace efforts.

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, had, through the Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, initiated dialogue between warring communities to stem the tide of violence.

However, Tuesday’s bloodshed is seen as a direct challenge to those peace moves.

Community leaders have called for urgent intervention, warning that unless decisive action is taken, the violence could escalate further, leaving more lives and property in jeopardy.

In April, renewed violence broke out over a longstanding land dispute between Ndukwe community in Amasiri, Afikpo Local Government Area, and Okporojo in Edda Local Government Area of the state.

The hostilities left houses and properties worth millions of naira destroyed, as attackers, reportedly from Amasiri, launched assaults on Okporojo.

The worsening security situation forced many residents of Edda to abandon the Amasiri road, opting instead to travel through Afikpo town due to fear of further attacks.

Although previous administrations attempted to resolve the crisis, including the release of a white paper based on a government committee’s recommendations, implementation has reportedly stalled, allowing the conflict to fester and violence to recur.

This is how bad Nigeria has become before the eyes of everyone. The government doesn't care, the news propaganda pumpers are just spreading bad news if it happens in a particular section of the country, while making obvious attempts at sweeping their own bad news under the carpet, pretending it didn't happen.

In the end Anasiri warriors will be blamed, and the government who controls the whole army and police, will be smiling from their offices.

Is the governor not an APC governor who has done nothing than siddon look while lives are been wasted , same way tinubu has done nothing to protect the lives of Nigerians that he swore to protect ?

What are we even talking about here..
The APC government is the worst in Nigeria history.
People are been killed like flies everyday and nothing is done to bring the perpetrators to book.

Imagine the APC governor of Ebonyi state talking about making peace when he should be making arrests of the killers ..

What a country ruled by APC terrorist organization.

See what Apshit has made of a country that was the fastest growing economy in just barely 10 years of calamitous misrule. Shame

When leaders lack what it takes to lead they start sowing ethnic, tribal, and religious divisions.

They're not warriors, they're cowards. Warriors face other warriors and fight while cowards attack armless people

None of this concerns Gringori Pandora. Even if the entire population in the East suffers similar fate, he'd never say a word. It has to happen elsewhere to be worth the attention of the nuclear reactor.

Killings here and there. Human life is now worth nothing in today's Nigeria.

Let's just say you wanted to show off! How does this involve the FGN?
Two communities were fighting over land, is it not the local or state government that should broker peace?
Even if you and your wife fights, you're likely to blame government!

Very pathetic....no wonder Nigeria is called the evil forest of western countries...
Taking someone's head as a trophy , I think is better than mining the head for rituals anyway , but that's by the way...

No, it doesn't concern the FGN, this matter happened in Cameroon, and Paul Biya should be blamed here.

State government that doesn't have a standing police or army is whom you're blaming?

Continue sleeping, dont wake up yet.

Insecurity is now the order of the day.

No fear for justice anymore. What a country?

God forgive me! Dunno why I started laughing after I read “armed warriors”. You can deploy your so-called armed warriors to invade & kill your own “brothers” but you can’t deploy the same men of war to fish out & eject marauding herdsmen from your communities; why are we like this?

We use/deploy our strength in the wrong areas whereas the area where that same strength is needed, is neglected.

is painful how my people are being killed every day by Amasiri people
I'm a full blood of Oso Edda
while my people are trying to maintain the peace accord from the state government but these people (Amasiri) keep killing us almost every day
many of my people still missing their offense been that they went to farm when Amasiri war lords hide in the busy to kill whoever the sight.
let it be know that our Youths are not afraid to fight them,we done that several times and won but right now our own political leaders had for long asked us to back off saying State government is in charge but we keep getting killed that we don't go to our farms anymore
they so called political representatives from council to state assembly have always refused to either support, arm us nor back us,not to talk about protection.
all simply bc they don't want the state government to query them or suspend them from office so they either prefer us died or leave our villages because the won be in power 😭😭😭
