For the sake of the wailers, passport fee as in any country is a user fee charged to cover the cost of issuing the passport so that government will not be subsidizing it.

Getting a passport is a choice since you can afford to fly. Obtaining a BVN or NIN is free; moreover, a driver's license is affordable!

One of the Nigeria Goverment goals is to make sure masses remain in abject poverty.

I don't support the hike in the price of passport but Obi should rest abeg.
Minimum wage was increased by this sane administration and its not all civil servant that's receiving just 70k, that minimum wage is meant for those in low levels like Level 1 or 2.
That's like cleaners, drivers and gate men but if their level goes higher in years through promotion they received times two or 3 of 70k.
Those in higher level are receiving double, tripple, quadruple and even times five of 70k, depending on their level.
Level 7 upward are receiving huge salary.

Passport should be more expensive, it’s one way for govt to make money. Passport is not needed within the country, it’s for traveling outside and traveling anywhere is not cheap.

My only problem with Tinubu is dat he removed subsidy.

Nigeria may not be able to overcome d effect of this singular act for d next 100years.

The point being made which seems to have flown over your head is that the cost of a passport should not be so exorbitant that the average Adamu, Tunde or Ike will not be able to afford it. Statistics show that this is the case all over the world

What has this present government done differently since they came into power.

When the price was 'affordable' the challenges in getting a passport was so much that time and money was so wasted. That was the reality!

Today it is different which comes with it's own price. You can't eat your cake and still have it.
We can only hold the minister accountable if he doesn't deliver at the appointment time frame set by his ministry.

It is like when Nitel was in charge of our telecommunications, I mean land lines telephones. How many Nigerians were able to own one despite the amount being paid when compared to the price of owning a line for mobile phone at the very inception of MTN which was very high.
