I served in Amasiri. I know about these warriors. They’re actually just normal villagers but can be very violent.

If you have any friends or relative from either Afikpo or Uwana or Okposi or Akpoha or better still the Edda people themselves that are the neighbors to this particular community,
Ask the person about the Amasiri people
Do some little research about their relationship with their neighbors
You will know that as far as land is concerned, they are very aggressive
You can't take a pinch of their land and go scourge free
They don't even mind the fg
Just do your research
The Edda people must have encroached to receive such treatment
Even the herders avoid that community
Ask even the herders they will tell you chilling encounters with that community if that herder you ask was part of the encounter

What a state with violent communities frequently having communal clashes with each other. Having them under your roof is like having a scavenging beast live with you which can strike at any slightest provocation. Reason most Igbo people avoid mixing up with them in matrimony or in business relationship.

Thanks for bringing this interesting perspective to my attention; I actually didn't know the history of the communities involved.

Nonetheless, I wish an alternative dispute resolution was explored instead of resorting to bloodshed.

No there is but in this case a whole community can rise against another and be killing themselves is a classic sign of no state or any form of security or justice. In those countries there is individual criminality like I saw the other day someone just lit his lighter and poured fuel on a woman who fell asleep in a train o and just threw the lighter on her. Boss she burnt to death o. So that is individual crimes or homicide but sir community to community and for hoy many years...that is my take boss...
