The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has announced that Nigerians sending parcels to the United States will now pay $80 (or its Naira equivalent) in prepaid customs duty, effective August 29, 2025.

I believe this is due to the US executive order on parcels coming in from foreign countries, which doesn't affect Nigeria alone. I am also glad it only affects parcels going to America and no other country.

No, the de minimis of USA stays with USA. Yekini and co are trying to add their own tax for outgoing parcels. That 85 USD is what some Nairalanders are contemplating starting their business with. We see them as here on NL as questions from time to time.
