Major talking points from Enzo’s presser:

Injuries & Player Updates

• Cole Palmer, Benoît Badiashile, and Romeo Lavia are all out. Lavia and Badiashile unlikely to return right after the international break but will be closer.

• Wesley Fofana is back and being eased in with minutes.

• Concern for Romeo Lavia’s long-term recovery, with comparisons to Reece James’ careful management.

Transfers & Squad

• Alejandro Garnacho is in the building; coach sees him strictly as a winger.

• Transfer business depends on outgoings: “anything can happen in and out” before deadline.

• Players currently training away from the squad: no clarity yet on their future; possible reintegration only after the window closes.

• Nkunku & Nicolas Jackson exits could trigger another attacking signing, but coach says “I don’t know.”

• Expressed strong belief in the squad: “I loved it when I joined, and it’s getting better and better.”

Team & Tactics

• On playing without Cole Palmer: team is better with him, but solutions were found in the last match (scoring 5 goals).

• Joao Pedro & Liam Delap can play together, but selections depend on game plans.

Opponents & Fixtures
• Fulham praised as organised, strong, and well-coached by Marco Silva.

• Excited about Champions League draw: happy club is back where it belongs.

• Looking forward to facing Napoli and Atalanta, calling them fantastic teams.

• Personal excitement about returning to Italy – football and food.

International Break
• Welcomes the break, mainly for player recovery (especially those not on international duty).

• No “holidays,” but a chance to recharge energy.

Departures

On Christopher Nkunku’s move to Milan: praised him as a professional and good player, unlucky with competition from Palmer. Milan fans can expect quality.

useless as how? we play 3241 if we stop inverting fullbacks like cucurella and James who can play wide center back we have enough cover at defence, while we have four players for the middle two, caicedo, lavia if ever fit, essugo and wharton

wharton immediately starts self, sanchez, james, chalobah, cucurella, caicedo, wharton, estevao, palmer, enzo, neto, pedro
You realized Wharton signing will relegate your lazy Enzo to the bench

BlueMann:
Lavia still injured and not expected back even after the int'l break

The worst part is I don't even know when or how he got the injury. I don't even remember what the injury is. I just know he's been out.
I have stopped counting him as a Chelsea player. They should get rid of him next season

Capaldi:
Aside from Nkunku none of the players we have sold this summer have been consequential to our FFP issues with Uefa. Most of you are just blind to the facts.

Our signings have also been mediocre while we have allowed our rivals to get stronger by stacking up huge talents. Garnacho and Gittens are side steps from Madueke and Sancho, none of them raises our level. Delap and Joao Pedro are decent at best none is world class or have world class potential.
Lol... Ok

So Chelsea will play with only 1 cb because Enzo must be in the line up,your delusion is on another level.

Palmer will eat your weak highline with jaoa Pedro scoring for fun.

You know the script already, you know the truth but you're scared to admit it.
Make we no lie ..

Chelsea suppose dey fear ..

If Dem use high pressing press your backline and that your keeper lasan .

God help you that day.. Una wey no get quick transitions from defense to attack

I wonder how una dey rate this barca sef.

This is not the barca that had the trio of messi, xavi and iniesta.

Abi na Yamaha una dey fear?

Bro, we are CHELSEA...the WORLD CHAMPIONS !!!
Bro, calm down small nao😅. This game na 50/50 o, no be by bragging. Let’s be honest, Chelsea are still in a rebuilding process ,new players, new system, and we are still trying to find our rhythm. On the other hand, Barca players have been together for long, they’re the current La Liga champions and also UCL semi-finalists, if not for that little mistake ,they should be in final ,so naturally they deserve to be rated above us for now.

That doesn’t mean we can’t beat them, but respect must be given where it’s due. Football no dey follow past glory or name alone, it’s about form and consistency, and right now Barca have that edge.
Personally, I would have loved to avoid them, but thankfully we meet at the group stage, not in the elimination rounds. In cup competitions you need a bit of luck to win the trophy, because most times the best team doesn’t always win it, it’s leagues that the best team usually wins. But the same God wey do am for us last season will surely do more this season. 💙

Facundo Buonanotte. Yet another Brighton player.

This one dey play like Messi o.... At least that's what I see from YouTube compilation.

Make una no come here say I dey compare him to Messi. His movement and stature resemble Messi.

But I didn't see defence splitting passes from him.

That Bounanote guy was not good enough for Brighton first team and was loaned to Leicester last season.

Why sign just for the sake of signing when it won't improve the squad.. That guy obviously can't bench Palmer/Joao Pedro/Estevao at AM

This season is not last season. No team will play chelsea and walk away unscathed right now.

If you manage win, na pyrrhic victory at best.
