Sit your ass down in Nigeria. Think it through how to survive the times into better seasons. Even Kemi Badenoch feels these things.

Surprisingly Igbos protected Ghanaians during that period and didn't ask them to go like happened in the North and South West except for those who left on their own volition, Ghanaians screaming Igbos Must Go don't know the difference between Nigeria tribes
Shut it! Igbos did not protect any Ghanaian!
Nobody in the North or South West asked Ghanaians to go. It was the Federal Govt under Shagari and Alex Ekwueme (an Igbo man) that asked Ghanaians to go and their President, Flt. Lt. Jerry Rawlings brought a big ship to carry most of them back to Ghana. Those who could not join the ship found a way to travel back by bus.
Some Ghanaians still remained in Lagos, the South West and other states during the time and after others had left.

Stop the silly lies! The Igbos did not protect anybody,

On January 17, 1983, the Nigerian government issued a directive: all immigrants without proper documentation had just two weeks to leave the country. The order was sweeping, sudden, and uncompromising. The spark that fueled this drastic move was a high-profile robbery incident at Vice President Alex Ekwueme’s residence, in which two of the culprits were identified as Ghanaian (although this was said to be rumoured and unverified).

The secret is that nobody remembers the region that championed the deportation of people from Ghana. grin

Same people flooded the educational sector with quack friends and relatives. grin

They are the same people shouting Respect your hosts. grin

Nuff Said cool

They were born to tell lies and change narrative even when the history said other.

But then again growing up in the mid to late eighties most of our good and specialized teachers like french, music ,arts n maths teachers were all Ghanaians . Which means the exercise wasn't thorough..but I think it was wrong concept altogether
Yeah...many didn't leave. I guess initially (weeks into it) it was enforced strongly...but after a while, Nigerians forgot about it, and the ones left, stayed behind. Because my home teacher and one of my favorite teachers in my primary school back in the late 80s was a Ghanaian man...Mr. Danso.

Some of them with documented jobs e.g. teachers, nurses, doctors etc. found a way to stay back because their teachers were the best in our secondary schools back then.

No they are not.

Nigerians are in Ghana and nobody is touching them.

The govt there loudly condemned all such protests, and refused police cover for the protesters.

Their president is always in Abuja and has Nigerian blood or something.

He might even have been installed by Nigeria remotely, because Nigeria rules West Africa.
Okay o cheesy

Now I understand why an average Ghanaian has so much hatred for Nigerians..
I think we still have so many of them here. Some of the people that built our house were Ghanians. Guess what, they were even speaking our native dialect. To tell you not all of them left. Some stayed behind.

I lost my lesson teachers during that era. Mr Mensah.
Most of them bore Mensah and Kofi. We had a popular teacher then in my primary school. His name was Mensah too. Most of our teachers then were Ghanaians.

Tables have now turned.

Ghana is now the one chanting “NIGERIANS MUST GO”.

Such history gives me the hope that someday, Israel will be history and Palestine will be free from the River to the sea.
Keep dreaming. It's cheap.

The tribal bigotry in Nigeria is unrivaled. I couldn't believe people recently revised this Ghana must go policy as a Yoruba thing, saying it's Yorubas that championed it, when this happened under a Presidency headed a Fulani (Shagari) and an Igbo (Ekwueme) man.
