Nigerian author and social commentator, Reno Omokri, has stirred a fresh wave of debate over the country’s work-free days, questioning whether the current system favors Christians over Muslims.

Speaking via his official platform, Omokri argued that while Sunday is widely observed as a rest day for Christians, Muslims are still expected to work on Fridays—their designated day of worship. According to him, equity demands that Muslims should equally have Friday recognized as a work-free day to balance religious considerations.
