I'll rate the transfer 7.5/10

We were able to ship out players and some big names to balance the books.
We got some necessary signings in areas we needed though not all but we can beat our chest and say we did well in balancing the books.

I think the "fear clause" which allows loan players to face parents club is a choice and not set in stone in most of those leagues.

In Laliga for example, most Barca/Madrid loan players usually face them during the course of the season. When Eric was on loan at Girona, he played against Barca. I think Mayoral/Cherishez played against Madrid while on loan as well. So it's not fixed in Laliga. Other leagues may be.
