It's treated as a criminal matter up north like you stole something from someone which can ened up with a jail sentence but in the south it's treated as a civil matter,I won't go to jail but will be asked to pay damages as in this case,to the husband and the wife would also be asked to pay cost but jail time is most unlikely.

He was knacking a married woman, it's not allowed in the Nigerian Navy. He was not forced to join the Nigerian Navy, he willingly joined. He knew the rules

The armed forces do not live by the civilian code of ethics. When you are going to war with a colleague by your side, you must have absolute trust in that person to have your back.

If you can't keep your brother's wife safe from yourself, can you then keep him safe from an enemy? You are already his enemy. You will likely even betray him to the enemy in order to keep his wife


Even if you can't understand this, at least you must be able to see that a man who suffers such an injustice with access to guns is a grave danger to the society?

Yes. Nigeria has two separate criminal law systems at the federal level: The penal code and and the criminal code. And even at that, states can make their own criminal laws withing a certain limit.

Northern Penal Code is different from Southern Criminal Code. You can be arrested in Abuja for meeting a married person in a hotel (some writer/journalist on X who pissed off a politician got arrested for meeting his married friend in Abuja).

In Lagos, you won't be arrested. However you can sue your husband's side chick if his affair led him to chase you and your kids out of the house and file for divorce.


Freeze the OAP was sued for this and some wives do go after the side chicks (especially if the side chick did something stupid like move in with the man).

The man is usually freaked out that his previously long-suffering wife has suddenly become as ruthless as he was in discarding her and usually starts sending emissaries (because lawyers will charge his case and the side chick's case different and price am separate, like N4mil for divorce and custody, N1.5mil for civil suit, minus extra payments).

More women should actually do it. But we keep guilting innocent parties here into shutting up and "keeping the peace".

The marriage laws are customary. If you understand that. Yes there is different mariage laws between the north and the South. It is never a crime.in southern Nigeria but it is a crime in northern Nigeria. You can make a reaserach

No matter how complete you might think you are in giving your woman what she wants,na small thing when u lack go still make her cheat. You might give her 99%. 1% go still make olosho cheat

This should be a capital offense in my opinion because it's the highest form of betrayal to your fellow man

Sexual affair with spouses of other personnel is not allowed in the military. Not just in Nigeria, also in other countries including the west

In military formations, this is an offense in the sense that the bond of brotherhood is broken. Imagine going on a mission or operation together standing behind a guy who stradded your wife. Why wont you MISTAKINGLY shoot him?

It's not a forgivable offence in the military and outside military.
Men are not going to mount any guard, as a woman if you want to do community services don't get married.

It's the Nigerian interpretation to ethics and professionalism. Was it forceful or at gunpoint? Then what reason should they sack him other than religion or tribal reasons.

The world sees everything from business but Nigeria chooses the mirror it wishes;religion or tribe to court martial officers except in the case of seaman abbas who was utterly unruly, no other dismissal has been a moslem northerner at any given time.

And what Happened to the evil woman that open her two leg for her husband coalleugto enter?

That's why some armed personnel self imposed discipline should be redefined & reconsidered. A lot of them are reckless with women, some gulp anything in bottle, while many are short tempered. No one with this three brutal traits to me can be said to be discipline.

So BG decides to "pull a David", to keep your wife permanently. He orders you to Niger state to fight bandits as your Commanding Officer, with your platoon, underequipped. And all of you die.

2. You and your friend are both Lance Corporals on the battlefield. You've been straffing his wife, infact his 2nd child resembles you. Your friend finds out. You're given orders to roll out to the battle front in Zamfara and your friend conspires with officers in the Armoury division to ensure none of the ammunition you go to battle with works well. So not only do you die, but the entire platoon gets wiped out because of sin (Adultery).

How many other Officers will feel safe to carry out orders if they know that their lives are in danger because of Se.xual Immorality and Adultery?

The Military works on Brotherhood and Trust. Because their lives are in danger constantly, they MUST trust the person beside them to have their backs and protect them, to survive.

And Sin (Adultery) makes that impossible. It's bad for morale as well as breeds distrust and division and wickedness.

Even in some companies abroad and here in Nigeria, Adultery is a fire-able offense.

Ethics is a big deal everywhere else except Nigerian society.

PS: even biblically, King David faced consequences. God decreed that the sword would never depart from his household. And when his son Absalom rebelled, one of the supporters of the rebellion was Bathsheba's Grandfather, Ahitophel, giving Absalom excellent military advice. Absalom actually lost because he didn't listen to that advice and Ahithophel committed suicide. Total destruction to the House of David, all because of a side chick and some "harmless" cheating, after all, "men weren't wired to be with one woman, yunno"

Abroad and I think in Multinational companies here, they used to be strict about it but infidelity and "choosing your happiness" (aka selfishness) has become Self Care.

Though the pendulum might swing back again: the world is getting more conservative again, far too much upheavals happen because of Office Affairs and that CEO and HR cheating couple did lose their jobs, as well as the 2 news anchors who were caught a year back.

Even my friend, there was a guy at work she had a thing with and she said that was how she knew it wasn't only her in the picture: a female junior in her office suddenly became rude to her over some months. She didn't even waste time, she wrote the girl up. Like "you want to mess up your career and lose your job because of Man, be my guest".
