If we are to be fair enough or be realistic, we shouldn't be comparing what senators earned with that of university professors.

Senators are elected for a limited period of time, and aside that, it cost a fortune for someone to contest in elections in this part of the world. Some of these people sold their properties and took up huge loan to get to that position. They spent alot of money for protection, and some don't even enjoy their lives with their wives and children. They sacrifice alot to earned the price.

I don't even subscribe to idea of increase salary, just make life be bearable to an average Nigerian. Food should be the cheapest or least thing a modern man should be worrying about. It should in abundance that a 10 days pay of an average worker should be enough to pay off his/her bills for a month.

After all, many of these professors are not even productive as expected. Even many of those that collected grants for researches die out of the way to waste funds. A very senseless post from a disgruntled element who's projecting his academic failures on those who succeeded. Whatever you're "hustling" today had its root from the academia! I don't blame you! Do you know that intellectual property is the best asset anyone can have in this world and so, should never be priced cheap be it in the academia, private sector or government employment?
