We watched two different games. This isn’t the Newcastle game. He had a dominant performance in his primary responsibility. He did not bite nor commit despite the temptations. He was strong against opponents. His tackles were timely and his positioning was excellent. He tucked in to support his LCB when it was needed and had the pace to cover. He has my MOTM vote.

Is this about quality or style of play? What exactly did you expect Gyokeres to do with Arteta’s style today? How many plays involved him? In Portugal, the entire offense was built around him and involved him.. At Arsenal, he can barely get the ball..

You just want defend mediocrity.

Well, as an arsenal fan, you have been conditioned to accept mediocre outings and made to find positives, even in losses.

Madueke I watched today did absolutley nothing in his main attacking role. He only was brave enough to run with the ball, facing kerkez...and all of the attempts ended lukewarm-ly. Nothing suggests brilliance..just the usual clueless player that chelsea considered surplus is what I saw.
