Hell fire is not an idea. It is scriptural. Jesus spoke about it more than any other subject in such a manner that it couldn't be misinterpreted.

Humans have always have to live under the dictate of other humans. It's called the law but not applicable to all. Remember animal farm?

Get this, these rules were set up to preserve morality. But sadly today because humans like you said yern for freedom, it has led to very grave orientation.

Good as it may sound, but what of lives, relationships and faith that has been shattered by these unscriptural laws in the church these years?
What of those that have been suspended and driven out from the church for going contrary to the rules,?
We must be careful, how we set rules in churches, that aren't supported by the scriptures only to relax them after they have caused very harmful effects on the lives, faith of people and relationship.

A church is an organization. Organizations have rules, which are purely for administration. Such rules can change any time.

That's why a pastor who said TV is bad few decades ago has a TV station and live stream his services.

His not bashing the Church. If I may ask what is a Church? The true Church has Christ as it's leader. And not one man calling the shot.

The Church is not an organization. Rather what you people misconstrue as a Church, which is rather a man made organization. Denomination is not a Church, there is a sharp contrast between the Church and denomination.

Every sect has its doctrines. A man or bunch of men sit together and come up with the most absurd of rules for their sheep. The best dissenters can do is to abandon ship and form their own sect. That's how we ended up with thousands of religious sects. I dare say that only about 1% of religious doctrines are divine mandates. The rest is derived from some deranged lunatics verbalizing loud their soliloquy.

What he meant is 6 months is not enough to court.

If the church follows the teachings of the Bible there will be no need for church rules nor doctrines. No doubt... there should be marriage counseling sessions to educate members and help them avoid entering unequally yoked marriages. Too many churches have Marriage Committees that make marriage decisions .... basically ...match makers.

You live in a country where everything is dictated to you. Someone in far away London decide your leaders and all yet you're surprised that the church operated under a law that's not even grievous to the adherence of it. The church is not an end time church.
