Trying time for marketers – IPMAN
Speaking to Vanguard on the situation, the Public Relations Officer, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Chief Chinedu Ukadike, said it was a trying time for independent marketers.

Your problem is none of my business, I only speak for myself. I can't remember the last time I left the house without light or came back home without light or sleep without light. I have to switch off my freezer a lot of the time.. My band A is banding well. Leave your backwaters and live with humans.
So all the people not on Band A but live in relatively developed areas are not humans too?

You're a very intelligent man.

you are not the sharpest in the APC tool box.
Some people are enjoying even more than 22 hrs supply per day. Go and ask those on Band A.

Your reality is not everyone's reality.

Lol, they love their chains. Aside refilling car tank, what's the need for petrol when there's almost 22/23 hrs of electricity.
whats the point calling you insensitive when you already chose zero over a number 6,

if you're so unlearned why not ask google the percentage rate of customers on band A or how many nigerianas even get steady 10hrs light talk more if 22/23 hrs ... you guyz just open mouth without thinklng like Father like sons

Is it not an irony that independent marketers that once held all of us to ransom are now afraid of going into oblivion?

We are not moved by their tears.
The tanker drivers, usually with 2 or 3 wives when the going was good have started their own since Alhaji has placed an order for 4500 CNG trucks with the intention to distribute the fuel by himself.

Not a fan of tinubu

1. At the end, Nigerians have to learn that refining fuel products is an expensive basis and thus trying to subsidize it is also an expensive thing

2. A lot of people in saner climes park their cars and use public transport in part because fuel is expensive there

3. Which is where this government has failed. There is no ongoing plan to provide cheap public transport that you can use instead of car. Railways, and the metro systems in Lagos and Abuja haven't seen much expansion. CNG works but is not widely available.

All in all, the elephant in the room is cheap public transport. Also railways expansion( full disclosure, i love rail transport)
Dont patronize us here, in US for instance fuel price per litre is $0.842 ... where minimum wage per hour is hovering $10 tell us why affordability will be an issue

They probably parked there car cos, even on public transit bus or train you will get the same comfort your would provide .. their is AC and no conductor/agbero wahala

Should Tinubu employ the best of best professor here on NL to defend his action he will fail like fatai cos you cant defend absurdity

It is either electricity has improved generally, not just on Band A, or people are too impoverished to think of fueling machines.

When I saw one new private fuel station with up to 6 pump attendants with another for the cooking gas and confectionery stations,I just wished them well.
Unless that station is a money laundering cover up,the owner has several other sources of revenue,I don't see how they can sustain paying that number of attendants from the sales from the station alone

I
Walai:
As early as 2023, once I come back from outside work after 3 weeks away from home. I will use the work bonus payment alone to shutdown the local market, freezer fully stuffed, my car and generator tanks filled to the brim and for the one week I will spend at home, I will flex all week generator on 24/7 with just savings from feeding and bonus yet my salary will not be touched but if I should live that kind of life now, both the savings from feeding, bonus and the entire salary will be gone in one week.
This man really messed up the little joy Nigerians dey get seriously
You no lie.
The truth is if you are living a honest life, living on just your legitimate salary or biz income alone, you are barely surviving.
If you are into biz,it's either your biz is suffering if you decide to live an enjoyable life from it.Though there are some exceptions but generally, things are pretty hard for any legit income earner.

Every Govt - Fed States, Local - should always come with a Mindsets - to make Nigeria Better!
- But the Politicians and their Footsoldiers -are die hard Greedy!
You can argue with your maker!

The article is uncecessarily long as we like to do in Nigeria. Reasons for reduction in petrol consumption are as follows:

1. Price - it has become unaffordable for many, so a lot of people have parked their cars at home to use only on weekends, while they use public transport during the week. This is more prevalent outside Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano where most citizens are civil servants.

2. Improved electricity - lots of petrol demand was due to generator requirements. However, due to significantly improved electricity, the demand for petrol to fuel generators has dropped drastically.

3. Train service in Lagos - This has reduced petrol demand because a lot of buses hat would ply those routes now work less as the y take longer to load, meaning less buses on the streets and less demand for petrol. This will be more significant when the Blue line extension to Okokomaiko and the Green line on the Lekki axis is completed.

I knew part of the reason was improved electricity, and less need for generators.

Kemetian:
I knew part of the reason was improved electricity, and less need for generators.
Yeah. I'm sure it would have made a bigger impact on diesel sef.

At the worst of the electricity crisis in 2023 and 2024, my estate was using as much as 3,500litres a month. Now since we got on Band A from Feb1 this year, we are barely using 500litres a month. Same for every estate around us. So if I take just 5 estates saving 3000litres each a month, thats 15,000litres a month and 180,000 litres a year! So 50 estates could be reducing consumption by 1.8mln litres a year.

Now extrapolate for hundreds of other estates in the Lekki axis and companies and Banks in VI, Lekki 1, Ikoyi, Oniru, Lagos Island, Ikeja, Ogba, etc. Then expand across Nigeria.
