It won't be easy for Putin to do that. Should I remind you that the war is over 3 years ? If it was easy for Putin, Ukraine would have surrendered to Russia within these 3 years but it isn't easy for Putin either.

UK as an example imports less than 10% of its gas from Russia, but energy prices in the UK have almost doubled since the war began in February 2022. Now this is for the UK that isnt exactly dependent on Russian gas.

It had been building a massive financial chest for that purpose ever since it experienced the 2014 backlash from the West when it first invaded Ukraine. He knew they would hit Russia hard the next time he tried such a misadventure.
