This government is mocking Nigerians! Reality is, with inflation and cost of living very high, Nigerians abroad are sending more money back home to support their friends and loved ones. |

Proof of reform or proof of a dying economy? Proof of reform or proof of a suffering people? These monies are not for investment but rather monies sent to loved ones from the diaspora. That means the cost of living has increased and begging has increased. I really condemn in the strongest of terms how this government calls it's bad economic decisions reforms. |

See wetin nigeria dey use achievement. Their angle is that the economy is soo good that disaporans are sending money back home to invest, i would argue that nigerians in disapora have to send more money for their familirs to feed because thr high rate of hunger and economic instability is not dnabling nigerians at home make ends meet. Abike dabiri is very useless, - not sorry to say - and she should need to vacate this post, i wonder if tenure for this nidcom chairman never ends. You can imagine how much of an arse licker you need to be to keep this position for a pretty long time like abike. |

... has nothing to do with renewed confidence in economy -it's to do with many more family and loved ones needing help more than ever before due to bad economy !! Otumopo/satanism/occult/rigging can win election but can never help in actual governance !! |

And the uselessness of the naira today is not worrying these band of dumbos? See what a govt is celebrating? Something that is as a result of people sending monies to salvage their families by home. Nigeria is in a deep mess. |
| Re: $600 Million Monthly Diaspora Remittances Proof Of Reforms – FG by Bankowner: 4:50am On Sep 02, 2025 |
The govt should tell us how much of that inflow went to creating new jobs other than supporting families. I agree some of it may be for investment in real estate. |

CFA and other neighboring country currency is now more valuable than naira. Our purchasing power significantly reduced, while those abroad are now swimming in excess money as tge exchange rate favours them. Look at how they're buying properties here and there but you'll hardly see an average Nigerian earning in naira in Nigeria not struggling. |

If you're hoping for a miracle to improve your finances, you're in for a long wait. My advice to everyone is to start a business and create opportunities for themselves. Stop relying on the idea of free money. The economy is starting to stabilize, so don't let yourself fall behind; otherwise, your future generations may look back and criticize you. |

I don't understand...! You are reforming Nigeria and Nigeria's economy, yet more money is being sent to loved ones by those working and earning abroad?!! Shouldn't it be the other way around?!! Sorry, but I fail to see the "Achievement" being celebrated here. ...Except you are telling me with evidence that 600 Million Dollars is being sent down here monthly for investments, and the investments are directly transforming the economy to greater heights. |

No be only proof of reforms, na proof of returns na If Nigeria was a serious nation with a sensible leader, this ought to have made them wake up and take legal japa of Nigerians more serious by even making it a government policy to help as many Nigerian professionals and talents as possible to legally migrate abroad to work and earn Nigeria more forex. How can government achieve this you may ask? Instead of always crying up and down that Nigeria have low number of healthcare professionals, why can't Nigerian government work towards increasing the number of healthcare professionals we produce so that we can have more than enough Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Lab Scientists, etc that will comfortably serve Nigeria and still have more than enough to send abroad? Replicate what Peter Obi has been doing in our Nursing and Medical schools. We have the youth population to make this happen. Talk to NUC, NMA and NMC so as to increase the admission quota for critical healthcare courses like Medicine, Nursing, etc. increase funding to Nursing and Medical schools so they can start admitting and producing more qualified medical professionals Write to WHO, UK, EU, US, etc that Nigeria is no longer in shortage of medical professionals but have excess qualified professionals that can help their healthcare system so that they can remove Nigeria from red list countries and start recruiting directly from Nigeria. Encourage them to come to Nigeria and set up their professional exam centers and partner with them to reduce malpractice so that it can be easier for our medical professionals to sit for their exams and migrate legally and peacefully. So same for Tech professionals and critical engineering professionals and watch Nigeria's forex skyrocket as we will start having billions of dollars monthly foreign direct remittances. This is the way to go instead of demonizing Japa and making it difficult when you know that Nigeria cannot employ our exploding youth population. Nigerians this is why you should vote in a wiser leader in 2027, so that smart thinking people like us can come on board and change the fortune of Nigeria for good, it's very possible ![]() |

But northern Nigeria wouldn't permit Diaspora voting despite the huge remittances. Rest of Nigeria accept the drawback. Diaspora vote counts shall be more accurate than vote counts in Nigeria proper. |

Which reforms are they referring to? What exactly did Tinubu and the APC reform that led Nigerians living abroad to increase the amount of money they send home to support their loved ones covering food, shelter, and other basic needs due to the economic hardship caused by Tinubu’s calamitous policies? |

Diaspora remittances was over $25 billion dollars in 2018, more than oil revenue for same year. In 2021, it was over $21B. What is there to celebrate in a paltry $600M/ month?

Kobojunkie:The $600 million per month refers to the amount coming in directly through the Non-resident banking route recently introduced by the CBN, not the total remittances coming into the country. According to the world bank, the total remittances into Nigeria in 2024 was a record-breaking $21.2 billion which is more than the $17b you wrongly claimed to be the highest. https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/BX.TRF.PWKR.CD.DT?locations=NG Mr Tinubu is Nigeria's greatest ever reformist head of State/President. I genuinely believe that. |

DeLaRue:$600 monthly remittance amounts to $7.2 billion. Nigerians were sending home $20 billion annually before now. How on earth do you people call this growth? https://nairametrics.com/2025/07/26/diaspora-remittances-to-nigeria-hit-20-93b-in-2024/ |
