wellmax:These are all things we say to make ourselves feel good. if you can eat better, live better, drive a nicer car, wear better clothes, have better healthcare, better education for your kids and live in a safer and saner environment, who cares about being second class or third class citizen. Every part of the world has citizens of other countries. there are millions of Nigerians in UK and US. Same way they are hundreds of thousands of Lebanese in Nigeria and Millions of Indians in UK. Did anyone of them complain to you about being seconf class citizen? |

Maxymilliano:I can bet you by the time she has access to better funding and training facilities, her times will improve all the more. Same way Francis Obikwelu who was not a reguler sub 10 100m athlete in Nigeria switched to Portugal and set European record of 9.86 which stood for 11years. |

nairalanda1:There are athletes who are eligible to represent the United States, England, Germany but who choose to represent Nigeria. It is about the choice of principle that rules our lives. |

As much as it pains to have yet another Nigerian sprinter leave to another country,I completely understand it's necessity! |
| Re: Favour Ofili Confirms Switch To Turkey by IMPARTIAL: 8:44am On Sep 02, 2025 |
Good for her. I'm really happy for her even though it's painful that she won't be representing Nigeria again - particularly now that she is reaching to the top in world athletics. |

| Re: Favour Ofili Confirms Switch To Turkey by IMPARTIAL: 8:48am On Sep 02, 2025 |
Na so we see am! Something always prods certain individuals to abandon their motherland. I remember the case of Gloria Alozie. How about Obikwelu? So painful!

"I have made this decision…while that means sitting out this year’s World Championship in Tokyo, this change comes from the heart, not from any financial motives." Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, she say na from the "heart" and not "financially"motivated hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Madam move on,you are a mid athlete at best and you wouldn't be missed, with Nigeria taking you to the world juniors meet and showing you to the world, you would have been noticed by the Turks and you are not the first nor will you be the last, enjoy your time while you last and remember to continue with your Turkish family after you have retired o. |
| Re: Favour Ofili Confirms Switch To Turkey by Blazebond(m): 8:53am On Sep 02, 2025 |
IMPARTIAL:I am happy that you quoted Glory alozie and let me tell you,she regretted that move and still talks about it till today and as for the Francis and Co that have moved before, nobody send them and cares, nigeria will move ahead. |

wellmax:And in Nigeria, some certain tribe in the south openly calls her people third class citizens. Also in that same country she was representing regardless of the hostile behavior of a certain southern tribe against her and her people, she was also left behind probably due to corruption. So there's nothing bad she will see in turkyie that she has not experienced double of in Nigeria. |

Here we go. What could have made this young lady switch flags without remorse? I hope she does not become the female EKPA in the near future. It looks that those who hate this country the most are those who was served her with pride. In any case, let's learn to value our own. |

The best part of her decision to join Turkey is that when she retires, the Turkish federation will take care of her until she's 120 years old. Best wishes to her in her new endeavours. |

Softmirror:1. You are right, let me just say that. 2. However, competition for spots in those countries is very stiff. A lot of athletes get left out, so many of them choose their mother land so that they can do international athletes. 3. IN essence, these are not the best athletes those countires have to offer. We are getting the leftovers (though who is to say that leftovers can't do well, the whole sports ecosystem is too competitive, that a No 190 in tennis can beat the world no 1, for example. Same in athletics.) |

They chose to represent Nigeria because they aren't the first, second or even third option in their country of birth. Nigeria is an easy option as there is no competition. Softmirror: |
