It was never part of their culture.
The whole thing started in the 1990s with some few carpenters who decided to design coffins that symbolize the trade, passion, or profession of some few popular citizens so they could be buried in them.
That is how the craze starting spreading and don't be surprised to see it in other countries very soon.
